The Resort is in a prime location for beach and shopping. The rooms are really out dated but the view was well worth it. We would stay there again just for the view we had. You are are in walking distance of a lot of great dining. Just down the street from the mall and took the bus to the Zoo overall a great vacation

We were very skeptical booking this hotel after reading mixed reviews, however this hotel has met all our expectations. Sure the rooms are dated but very clean, kitchen facilities is so handy, large comfy bed, close to everything. ... what's not to like? The pool is very crowded in the weekends but the staff are helpful and very friendly. We loved our stay here and will definitely return :)

We only had an overnight but the staff couldn't have been more helpful despite arriving on an early flight we were found a room so we could sleep straight away & it was quiet, spacious, clean and wonderful. Luggage service was included so no need to tip the bellboy.

Room Tip: Renovations are at front on the Porte crocheted at the moment so ask for a high room.

The illikai is a nice hotel. Staff is very welcoming & the rooms are spacious. What I disliked was the noise of the people on the streets day & night. We stayed there for 2 days before leaving to the northshore & I was a bit disappointed. I hardly had any sleep at all while staying there. I love the fact that theres lots of eateries in the vacinity though. The check in on the 2nd floor is a bit confusing. We had nice walks out on the beach and we also walked to a near by shopping mall. Alamoana has everything you need. The illikai was nice, but it wasn't what we had expected. I do reccomend dinning at red lobster. The food is amazing.

Room Tip: Ckoose a room far from the streets of Waikiki.

Aloha and thanks for your positive comments about our friendly staff, roomy suites and convenient location amidst a plethora of shopping, dining and beach options. The iconic Ilikai has been a landmark tower in Honolulu for 50 years. It is unfortunate you had difficulty resting well in our urban metropolis. Being on the edge of Waikiki, we do provide a quieter and less congested setting than many other big city properties.

Sincerely,

Be sure to get and Ocean beach view as the street side is awful compared to the other side. Very noisy and nothing but streets and buildings. A million things to do here and great beach, park and restaurants on site. Also a store is in the building that has everything you need. You literally could almost not leave the grounds for your whole time. The bus runs right down Ala Moana all the way too Diamond head or all the other way to Pearl harbor, right in front of the building. A great location and nice hotel at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Ocean/beach view is a must

This was our first stay here (recommended to us). The room was excellent & clean, great to have a full kitchen. The staff is very courteous and definitely go out of their way to make your stay better. When we arrived (you need to go to room 212 to register) we asked about a later check out time as we were on the red eye flight going home, they were fantastic and offered us one, as well as, a courtesy room to use once we checked out (this was so wonderful for us). We were on the 7th floor, city side and never had a problem sleeping or with noise - yes if your patio door is open you can hear the traffic but it was nothing unbearable. This is on the quieter side of Waikiki which was so much nicer, less people. There are a number of restaurants in the area within walking distance - all were good that we went to! The beach was 5 min away, and very nice. Definitely recommend this hotel, and we will stay here again next year! Thank you to the staff this hotel for making our holiday even that much better!

This is my 2nd stay at the Ilikai and as before it was awesome. The staff is very attentive and always go above and beyond to make your stay more enjoyable. When we arrived, the room was very clean. The full kitchen is always a nice touch, just in case you want to cook instead of eat out. If you need to make rice, you can request it from the front desk (suite 212). The bed was very comfortable, we had no problems falling asleep and feeling refreshed the next morning. The elevators are quick, so you aren't waiting long to get to and from your room. The beach is just a short walk from the hotel. Plenty of food choices close by. The beach on this side of Waikiki is more enjoyable, it much quieter than the main part of Waikiki, with less people, so its not difficult finding a spot to layout and enjoy the views.

Greetings from the Waikiki Marina Resort at the Ilikai. Mahalo for staying with us again and taking the time to share your experience online. I'm glad to hear our staff went above and beyond, and that your studio suite with full kitchen was clean and comfortable. Being located at the beginning of Waikiki is an added benefit as the nearby beaches are far less crowded but just as beautiful as those in the middle of Waikiki. We hope to serve you many more times.

Regards,
Barrett Winning
