“BEST FISHING EVER: 10 mahi-mahi + 1 ONO!!!!”
Review of Center Ring Diving - CLOSED

we had the BEST time with Alan, Wanda, Dave, Brandon, Montana Mike, and Keone: took their huge boat out onto the big, rough waters of the Pacific and caught an unprecedented 11 fish!!!! 10 mahi-mahi (25+ lbs) and a bonus ONO (30 lb, very rare)... no other boat on the water that day caught more than 1-2 if they were lucky. the talented skills of our captain and fisherman, combined with the graciousness of our hosts, made our 12-hour experience truly unforgettable. i would recommend this outfit for Deep Sea Fishing or scuba diving - they do it all! keep up the good work, buddies!!!!!

8 of us descended on this boat for a fishing trip at the recommendation of a friend. Allen, Wanda, Capt Dave, Brandon, Montana Mike and Keone comprised the crew They were orderly, efficient and incredibly friendly. Overall, it was an outstanding experience. And yes, we caught plenty of fish. Keep in mind you can't take all the fish you catch with you, and you wouldn't anyway because there is no possible way to eat it all. That said, you won't go hungry.

The Queen of the Ring is a 61' Bertram boat, which if you know anything about boats is a solid ocean-ready vessel. The inside was well kept and clean. After a quick orientation by Allen we left port. 20 miles out we hit 6-8 foot swells and at that point I was glad we went with this outfit due to the boat size. A 40 footer would have been miserable.

At 8:30-ish 4 lines started going nuts. We pulled in 3 Mahi- all good size fish. We then headed to other locations where we continued to pull in Mahi. 10 were caught overall thought the course of our 3/4 day trip (we pulled in around 4 pm). Our last prize was a 30 lb Ono, which the crew was pretty psyched that we landed. Mike, Keone and Brandon were an amazing deck crew that was knowledgeable, helpful and very interested in our group catching fish.

Overall, the crew, the boat and of course the fish (11 total) made for an outstanding experience. If you are looking for a personal touch, a great experience and some tasty fish to take home, these guys are the best! Thanks to Allen and the rest of his crew for a great time!

This has to be the best experience I have ever had. The fishing and then the diving were unbelievable. This is truly an "experience" that you have to have under your belt. Everything from the financial arrangements - man, Alan never asked me for payment, when I was getting off the boat, I told him that we need to settle up and so we did - wow!!!!!
The warm welcome when we got to the boat was unbelievable, the boat is a huge boat with all the modern amenities and we had the full run of the whole thing. Breakfast was served and drinks were plentiful through out the day - just go and get what and when you want from the cooler. We caught some AWESOME fish on the way to the dive sight, my son brought in a 6+ ft ONO (Wahoo) followed by a decent size Mahi - unreal experience that he will never forget. On the way to each dive site, we were given a very detailed briefing of the dive, what to expect, etc. On the first dive, I lost count after 13 sharks, I bet there was almost 20 or so - not sure. The second dive was also exciting, we saw a smaller shark, Murray eels, tons of fish and beautiful unspoiled reefs.
Can you believe that we even took a warm shower in the boat after our dives and were served a gourmet meal between dives with cocktail shrimp, etc!!!
Like my son said "this is living". All I can say is that this is the most relaxed, luxury, professional, no rush, no crowd atmosphere where you are treated with respect, given your privacy and guided when you need it, that I have experienced in my 20p plus years of diving!
IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS TRIP, YOU WILL HAVE POSSIBLY MISSED OUT ON ONE OF BEST EXPERIENCES ON YOUR LIFE !!!

Very helpful in answering our initial questions. They immediately made us feel at ease and welcome on their boat. The crew were knowledgeable and welcoming. We arrived pier-side and were immediately welcomed aboard and told to make ourselves at home. Once we were given an orientation of the boat the instructor gave us a safety brief and an overview of the day.

We then departed for the dive site. The dive was a short but scenic transit away. We first dove a local wreck. We donned our equipment, received a safety check and entered the water. The instructor guided us only as much as we wanted to be guided, taking a moment if we needed it to clear our ears as we descended. The wreck was an amazing dive, full of sea life including a resident octopus, and eel. We spent roughly 25 minutes on the dive and thoroughly enjoyed it.

After the first dive we had a short transit to the next site. Our surface time was appoximately 45 minutes but the crew didn't rush us, they allowed us to relax and eat food which they generously provided including home made wraps, salsa, hummus, and salad. When we were ready we were again given a safety check and entered the water. This dive was approximately 40 feet on an off-shore reef. the instructors were knowledgeable of the area and we leisurely swam to a spot where there was an abundance of sea turtles, overall a fascinating and fun dive.

At the conclusion of our dive we lounged on the boat and ate more home-made food prepared by the instructor's wife. The crew was very friendly and we chatted for about 45 minutes and enjoyed the sunshine and scenery. Finally we headed to shore which was a short ride away (roughly 15 minutes).

Overall the organization was a pleasure to dive with. The instructors were knowledgeable and friendly, the crew were courteous and made us feel at home on their boat and we would gladly dive with any of them anytime. We highly recommend this attraction.

The boat captain and owner were both involved to make this outing perfect. We used this charter for diving but learned later that Alan's (owner) boat can be hired out for any excursion. This boat is perfect for any outing and I would highly recommend this to any visitor to the island.
