“Amazing time in Waikiki in Feb”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Waikiki Beach was really amazing. My wife and I went early in the morning when it wasn't crowded at all and the water was just unbelievable - 7:00 AM and the water is warm, you just walk right in. Felt like I had the whole Pacific to my self.

And then, later in the day, walking around the beach, with all of the Hotels and Shops right across, it felt like I was in Miami Beach in the middle of Broadway in NYC - just a great place. And all the surfers and sun-bathers and swimmers - you just feel like you are in a different world. The water was really calm close to shore; excellent for swimming, and wavy enough a bit further out that there is plenty of surfing taking place.

All in all, we loved our time at Waikiki Beach and really enjoyed the views.

“What are you looking for?”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Many bad mouth Waikiki saying it is too crowded. If a more quite, secluded beach is what you want, go to the other side of the island or better yet, go to Kaua'i. Waikiki has all the shopping and people who want to see and be seen. Yes, it's very crowded, it used to be a swamp until they reclaimed the land by redirecting the water flow from the mountains. The beach is narrow, but there are a million things to do. If you are really into surfing, this isn't your beach either. If your are looking to show off all that work you do in the gym back home, this is it- you will have company and plenty of people checking you out.

“worst beach I have ever been to”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

It's crowded both in and out of the water.

Doesn't come close to the beautiful beaches in Australia.

I hate the fact it is so crowded and people are virtually sitting on top of each other.

“Waikiki Beach”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Waikiki beach is reminiscent of the Australian Gold Coast.High rise hotels in the background and plenty of sand. No surf worth talking about although lots of hopefuls trying.Pleasant enough , but not striking. The main street is all high end and expensive shops , and unless you are in the market for a Cartier , don't bother. The reasonable eating places are packed , so get in early. There is a stall packed souvenir market that's worth a look, and the ubiquitous ABC shops that sell everything.Waikiki is worth a one or two day visit , in which you can incorporate nearby Diamond Head , the volcano crater that was an army post.

“Can't miss it if you go to Honolulu”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

A wide and clean sandy beach in front of the Honolulu city. Many people surfing, walking, sunbathing, or just looking at the ocean and the beautiful sunset.
There is a wide road and big trees separating the beach from the hotel towers and stores.
