Stayed here in August 2013 and was very pleasantly surprised with this place. First off, it's in a great location, close to the beach and shopping without being on the beach. The staff is very polite and helpful. The decor was clean and chic-- i liked the color palette. Small rooms, but clean and updated. Loved that there was a rooftop pool (albeit small) that was empty 95% of the time. I think I lucked out because our room on the 13th floor had a HUGE balcony that had a partial ocean view.
On my last 2 trips to Oahu, I've stayed at turtle bay and royal hawaiian so i've been a little spoiled! While Shoreline isn't the RH, you aren't paying RH prices, but you are still getting a great waikiki experience on a budget. And although I say it's budget friendly, you aren't getting a nasty budget-friendly hotel! Would come back for sure if I can't splurge on RH (which is still my fav)!
