My fiance and I stayed here the nights before and after our wedding ceremony on the east coast of Oahu. I actually had my hair and make-up done in this room. We were greeted at the front desk with smiles, ice cold pineapple juice, and refreshing cold towels. The front desk, concierge, and the valets were all super friendly and accommodating. We needed an iron for our room - brought up in seconds. We needed some forks and plates to eat our leftover wedding cake - they were brought right to us from the kitchen in the middle of the afternoon. The complementary breakfast included coffee, tea, juice, toast, FRESH tropical fruits and a variety of pastries (different every day - at least one including some kind of protein like sausage or chopped pork). The location was perfect - a couple blocks down a shaded street and there you are, right on Waikiki beach and close to all kinds of shopping. We would stay here again in a heart beat. A few things to know when booking: they offer rooms with two twin beds (apparently to serve Japanese vacationers) so be aware of your room description, the rooms are small for the average American couple but have everything you need, and the parking deck (valet only) has a one lane entrance and exit which could lead to some close calls getting out of the deck. Also, we were upgraded to a "partial ocean view" room. It was pretty much a tiny sliver of ocean between two buildings, so not much of a view at all. Fortunately, we did not mind.

Excellent location, professional staff, nicely remodeled building all made for a good 7 nights in this moderately priced Waikiki hotel. The hotel has a cool vibe. All of the staff were pleasant, helpful and upbeat. Samantha and Adam were exceptionally helpful. My room had a minor plumbing problem that I was not aware of, so I was upgraded to an ocean view suite. But even without this upgrade, my entire experience was positive, easy and relaxing from start to end.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views and have less street noise.

This is a fairly new remodeled building and the room was nice. Not like you'd find in a four or five star but very comfortable and clean. What impressed my wife and I the most was the pleasant smiles and greetings every time you ran into someone from the Hotel. We stayed 5 nights and the service was always graciously consistent from the valet to the front desk to the person who coordinated the morning breakfast. When you're traveling, and maybe we feel particularly when you're on the islands, you want to enjoy yourself and relax. One can generally find nice accommodations in Waikiki but that in itself doesn't make the stay. Kudos to the staff and management at Vive ! Thank you for making us feel very welcome :-)

My wife and I enjoyed everything about this hotel. We stayed 5 nights and from the time we checked in and was offered a glass of pineapple juice,a cool towel and a welcome greeting what can anyone want to start a vacation. The staff was so friendly from the front desk, morning breakfast staff even the workers keeping up the fine appearance of the hotel. We had the jr suite which was big enough for any intimate setting looking out from the 21st floor. The beach is close, public transportation is right outside the door shopping is just as close as the beach .Would recommend to anyone and would come back again. Great job Vive staff. from the George Family.

Room Tip: Stay in the suites on the highest floor facing the beach.

Dear badjaws,
Aloha and thank you for choosing Vive Hotel Waikiki for your recent travel accommodations in beautiful tropical Oahu.
While I do agree our rooms are not of the larger scale, the rooms are very well appointed with the space provided and the room does have either a closet or an armoire. I apologize the room size wasn't to your expectation.
Although we do not have a pool or restaurant, I hope you were able to utilize our premiere location just steps away from the glistening Pacific ocean along with the complimentary continental breakfast that we offer.
Thank you again for your time and it was a pleasure to have had you as our guest.

Kind regards,
D. Sakakibara

I was so impressed. Early check-in was no problem and they even invited me to have breakfast and coffee straight away which was much appreciated after a long flight. The rooms are small, but clean and modern. The location was amazing, I couldn't believe how close it was to the beach for the price and they have beach towels and chairs available complimentary. And free wifi in the room. Great hotel, great location.
