“3 1/2 hours for 9 holes!”
Reviewed 18 September 2012

This municipal golf course was a mile from our hotel. It is supposedly the most played golf course in the world. The previous golf course we played was all rolling hills, so the fact that this course is flat was appealing- at least on paper. It is a no frills course with the no frills price, but boy did we pay for the no frills. No bag drop, so we had to cart our clubs in. Had to buy bottled water- no ice. No logo balls. Waited in a meat market type line until you got "on deck" to be next to start. We were paired with two other gentlemen who play the course regularly which was nice. Unfortunately our foursome followed a SIXSOME- correct. six players! There were other sixes out on the course as well which is probably why we finished two holes in 50 minutes. Pace picked up a little, but still took us 3 1/2 hours to complete nine holes, at which time we quit. The condition of the course was fair to poor, with many bare spots. The gentlemen with us had packed a picnic lunch and were used to waiting on each shot. We, however, are used to finishing 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours or less and couldn't stand the wait.

“Better Courses for your money”
Reviewed 5 July 2012

This was the biggest mistake of the trip. At $45 a round you are better off playing twilght at a nice course. They send off groups of 6 which makes it extremely slow. The course is nothing special and maybe a bit dumpy.

“Tourist trap”
Reviewed 15 March 2012

My girlfriend and I played this golf course, situated across the canal from our hotel. At first glance it looked great, and because it was a municipal golf course we expected it to be cheaper than resort courses. We got to the course and the staff was not very polite and we felt like we were disturbing them. We rented clubs, which were quite over priced for cheap wal-mart quality wilsons. The green fees for tourists are way higher than for residents. The course itself was ok, but the grass was very burnt and the ground wasn't the best. It was our most expensive golf experience in the Hawaiian islands, and the quality of the course doesn't reflect the price tag that comes with it at all.
