“Great value and right in the heart of Waikiki”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 December 2009

After a 2week vacation on the North Shore, we decided to stay for one night in Waikiki prior to us leaving early the next day. We were greeted with friendly staff. Rooms had all we needed. Clean and tidy and very affordable. Just the place to be if you want to be right in the heart of Waikiki. Would recommend and stay again.

This is the 2nd year we have stayed here. We like it so much, we have brought 2 other couples with us. My husband loves playing "Aloha Santa" on Waikiki and has done this several Decembers in Hawaii. The staff, in particular Brandon at the front desk, has been very helpful and supportive. The rooms are nicely decorated, the king-size bed is very comforable, and the coffee service and mini-refrigerator in the room is great for snacks. There is free Wi-Fi high-speed internet in the lobby with your own laptop.
The location just one block from the beach, McDonalds and ABC stores makes it a great location for families. We are seniors, but we love McDonalds senior coffee and free refills...their dollar menu too.
We will be back, the Lord willing.

Last month we went to Oahu for a business trip. We live on another Island, so travel to Honolulu allot. This trip, we had the pleasure of staying at The Waikiki Resort Hotel, which is on Koa Street, Waikiki. This hotel, was like home away from home! Not only was the room beautiful, so nicely furnished and clean, but the personal working there were the most friendly of any hotel on Oahu that we have stayed at. They looked after our every need, even the Manager, Glenn Vergara, inquired as to how our stay was. This was a first for us, so we were really impressed. Breakfast was included, a buffet and was truly delicious. The Hotel was indeed to us, a hidden secret, and one that we would like other people to discover too. We will defiently return there, and will make it our home away from home, when ever we are on the Island of Oahu ( Honolulu) We have already passed on information to many others. Aloha, Evonne Bjornen and Paul Tallett, from Hilo, Hawaii

Found the people friendly and place convenient. Just a block from beach and lots of activities and eating places around. Got a great deal from an online site when making a last minute booking.

Parking in Waikiki area expensive though. $18 a day not included in room rates.

I wasn't expecting much as it was on sale and a budget hotel. However lots of people rated it high. I see why now. The staff is nice and the location is awesome! Half a block off of the beach and right next to bus routes, shopping and Mcdonalds. LOL great if you have kids. The rooms were average and nice. The pool is smaller and cold, but i like that. Also i didnt goto hawaii to mess around in the pool! Great views of the sunset and great snorkeling again about 100' from the lobby! The location is superb! They have a business center but its really slow connection speed, but you can get on from your room or find a hot spot for faster connection. This is a base hotel for Korean airlines, has a spa, and 2 good resturants in the hotel.

We are a local Hawaiian family in Honolulu for funeral services. We stayed in 4 rooms and travelled in and out of the hotel several times daily. The proximity to the beach was important, because we scatterred the ashes of my brother off Waikiki's First Break (surf spot), duplicating the scattering of my dad's ashes back in 1985. My dad was a beach boy in Waikiki in the 1930's and the ocean off Waikiki is important to our family.

The rooms were clean, the staff was very accommodating; we requested rooms together and the hotel came through. I encountered a minor issue with the sink drain, and it was fixed in no time flat. Parking was convenient, especially for Waikiki, or, the Jungle as the area was known back in the 60's-70's.

Mahalo nui to the staff and management of the Waikiki Resort Hotel.

Stayed here for four nights at the beginning of our Hawaii trip. The rooms were ok, nothing too fancy but at least with a little bit of a view of the ocean. The staff were accomodating and friendly and they had a nice hot breakfast buffet. We had a lot of fun in Oahu. We went to the Polynesian Cultural Center and it was a lot of fun. Many things to try out and learn about. We ate at the Prime Rib buffet which was really good and watched their evening show. We toured Oahu and spent some time sightseeing and on the beach before flying over to Maui.
