This was our third stay at Ocean Resort Hotel and we'd stay there again. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but no frills. The hotel is a block from the beach, literally 2-3 minutes. It is surrounded by hotels that cost 2-4 times what it costs here. It's a great value. Staff is friendly and accomodating.

While these guests may have been meaning to write about another hotel which happens to be less close to the beach than we are, we want to thank these visitors for their favorable posting on our site. Location and value is synonomous with Waikiki Resort Hotel and we hope that you, like many others, choose to see for yourself. Mahalo and Aloha.

Loved it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location - only 90 seconds walk to the beach. Room was great, clean, everything we needed was available and the in-room safe was invaluable. We will be staying there again on our next trip to Hawaii.

After narrowing my search to this hotel, I searched even further for the very best rate, finding it on blue-hawaii.com, where I booked a rate of $81/night + tax! At this ridiculously low rate, I expected a less than ideal room, yet when I arrived and checked in, I was given keys to a room on the penthouse floor - a great way to start our vacation and first time visit to Hawaii! The room was nothing special, even a little worn, but it was clean and quite. As other reviews point out, this is a great location. If you are content with spending your vacation in Waikiki and the surrounding vicinity, do not get a car - you can easily walk anywhere and there are lots of restaurant choices in all price ranges.
Other good points: Hotel staff were all friendly and helpful; the lobby is beautiful; and the elevators work great and are quick. I would not hesitate to return, especially if I could get the same great deal.

Mahalo (thank you) to these guests for posting a favorable review concerning their recent stay at Waikiki Resort Hotel. We're delighted to see that their stay represented a "great value" and they fully appreciated the "great location." They commented favorably on the lobby which, by the way, we hope to renovate in the next year. Looking forward to welcoming them back on their return trip to beautiful Oahu. Ahui hou (until we meet again)

Overall Waikiki Resort Hotel is a very commendable hotel. Great location, clean/decent rooms but the front desk staff were not so helpful. The only issue we had was at the check in time. We arrived a little earlier than the usual check in time but was told that our room wasn't ready yet...which we didn't have a problem with. They were able to hold our luggages while we try to kill time by roaming around the streets of waikiki and grabbing a late lunch. However, our issue came about when we came back and tried to check at around 3pm but was told that our rooms were ready yet...I guess we were just a little frustrated that we had to wait much longer considering I checked the day before to make sure the room we requested would be availabe on time on the day we arrived and the only thing we needed at time was to relax a bit after a long flight. Other than this tiny issue the rest of stay at this hotel was quite wonderful. As mentioned, location is perfect, close to everything and literally a few steps away from the beach (big +++). Cleaning staff and bell desk were extremely helpful and nice. Front desk were just so-so not sure if its because I booked our stay online through one of those discounted package sites which the first lady I spoke with at the front desk deliberately mentioned when we initially tried to check in 2 hours earlier than normal, just thought it was kind of odd. But didn't let it ruin my stay had little interaction with the front desk as they seem to be "very busy" all the time....I would stay here again just for the fact that it has a very nice location... quick tip though, if youre trying to save some $$$ on food, try the food court at the back of the international market place, very yummy yet wont break the bank (try the asian-hawaiian fuision and the fresh seafood stall right next to the stage - so goood!) also if you're ever going to the swap meet....you must try the ha-ling pineapple...its the best one yet....Mahalo and I can't wait to visit HI again....ALOHA

We would like to thank these guests for allowing us to serve them on their recent trip to Waikiki. We regret that their room wasn't ready upon arrival and we extend our sincerest apologies for any lack of aloha that they perceived on the part of our front desk team. We want you to know that we take a great deal of pride in our guest service however in this instance, regretfully we fell short of their expectations as well as ours. They go on to convey their favorable thoughts on our great location and value received and we thank them for sharing them. Hopefully we get the chance of welcoming them in the not so distant future so that they get a chance to experience what we believe is more representative of our guests' positive arrival experience. Again, Mahalo nui loa.

This is my 9th times to Waikiki.
Out of the 9th times, this is the BEST stay. It's because of the hotel and its staff (Andy, Suzy and Brandon). The are the BEST when it comes to customer services.

Pro:
-Very clean room
-Staff provides us with everything that we needed
-close to the beach (not even 1 block)

Con:
-None

I'll DEFINITELY stay here again.

This hotel was a few blocks from Wakiki Beach and a McDonald's and many restaurants and ABC stores were accessible within a few blocks. The area around the hotel was bustling with tourists from every country. I didn't experience any interaction with American or European tourists at this hotel. The hotel has a nice lobby, easily accessible laundry facility and limited parking on a very busy street. The restaurant food service was poor and our large group often didn't get served in a timely fashion. Once we dished up our breakfast buffet, most mornings, coffee wasn't available in a timely fashion. Our room had an issue with insects, however, the hotel did give us a one time $35 USD discount for this problem.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two weeks. It's a nice basic hotel. Clean, comfortable and I found the room to be plenty large enough for a couple. For the price, you can't beat it's location. The hotel is only 1/2 block from the beach and is close to many restaurants, shopping and of course ABC stores :) As others have mentioned because of it's prime location, it does get a bit noisy in the mornings due to the large amount of traffic (many, many buses!). We were on the 18th floor facing Liliuokalani Ave and even with a sound machine on we could still hear the street traffic. It wasn't terrible, but if you are a light sleeper you will want to take earplugs or a sound machine to help drown out the noise. Overall it's a nice hotel for a great price. If you want to experience Waikiki but don't want to spend a fortune, this is your place.
