You drive about 10 or 15 minutes out of Waikiki, and suddenly you're in the middle of a rain forest, bamboo forest, and the end of the hike you are rewarded with 150 foot waterfall! It gets a little slick towards the end. Wear hiking shoes (tevas or water shoes are great because they will get muddy!), give the flip flops a rest for this one!

The Manoa Fall was nice to see at the end of the trail. If I talk myself into trying it again, I would wear mountain boots or non slip shoes for the muddy passageways. The return trip down the trail, I worried for brave parents who took there infants and small kids. This is not a flip flops wearing trail. Save your efforts and your bum and wear better shoes. Though I had on trail shoes and still managed a slip.

The hike to the falls is spectacular. It has a mix of jungle, bamboo forest, & trees of all varieties. The trail goes along a creek. The falls were amazing. We enjoyed the hike and the views.

We went on a hike to Manoa Fall to get a better understanding of the Hawaiian Rainforest. It was gorgeous landscaping and a very lush environment. The day that we went it was hot and humid. I guess that is expected when you are in a rainforest. The hike was not difficult, but because of the humidity, we were soaked by the time we got to the top, near the waterfall. The entire hike was beautiful, but the waterfall at the end of the hike was unbelievably majestic. It took us about 2 hours to go up the hill and back down. It is definitely worth the trip and I recommend this hike.

The muddy climb is part of the experience. It's a waterfall, afterall!

We (children of the Midwest) aren't used to climbing, waterfalls, or the tropics, so we took Manoa falls as an adventure. The walk up to the falls starts out relatively flat and beautiful, well maintained, and covered with amazing views and spectacular plants and flowers. Then it gets steeper and slicker, and you're more focused on the climb than on the scenery.

The day we went, the falls were impressive but not as spectacular as the climb.

We found Manoa very much worth the 1-2 hours and small parking fee.
