“Nice Location”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

After renting a car to drive around the island, a friend recommended Nico's as more of a local restaurant, so we tried it for dinner before our car was due back. It sits on Pier 38 (free parking and very easy to get to) where you can sit inside next to a garage door type opening for shad but feeling like you are on the pier, or sit on the nice patio. Food was good, restaurant filled up fast at 5:30pm, and the bar seemed like a place where a lot of people go for an afternoon drink. Nice place where the prices are about $12 to $28. Our dinners were good, but nothing to oogle over. The service was exceptional, and everyone was very friendly.

“Not a seafood expert so disregard if you like...”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I probably shouldn't even write a review since I don't eat seafood but I figure I can cover the rest. While I had read some reviews of Nico's during my pre-trip research, we actually just stumbled upon it while extricating ourselves from Chinatown (where we were trying to go to lunch was closed that day) The staff that took our order was what I like to call "trained happy". You order at the counter and then get a beeper that goes off when your food is ready. Prices are quite reasonable for seafood. The restaurant is open air but it's not like it's right on the water - you sort of have to look across a parking lot/access road to see a small part of the harbor (which hubby still enjoyed). Hubby got the Furikake Pan Seared Ahi, I got the Grilled Ahi Sandwich (trying to expand my seafood horizons). Hubby said it was good. As a side note, they have a really cool logo on their merchandise so we did end up with a t-shirt.

“Excellent Food and Great Wait Staff”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 via mobile

We had a great night with excellent food. The appetizers were really good, the main meals were perfect, and the desserts topped everything off nicely. The outside seating was also very comfortable with a view of the harbor.

The service was the best we have had the whole trip.

“Great place for lunch”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

While in Hawaii we saw this restaurant reviewed on TV so we decided to try it and we were not disappointed. We went there for lunch before we flew back to the mainland. The restaurant was filled with a lot of military personnel and other locals. I had a cajun flavored fish which was good but my wife's "catch of the day" was even better. All of the fish is extremely well priced for Hawaii. The fish was not over cooked but firm and tasted great. I had cheese cake for dessert and it was okay but the best thing there is the seafood.
