“A great choice for our family”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

We have just returned home from two fantastic weeks at Embassy Suites. The hotel staff were so warm and welcoming. The rooms were very clean and bedding very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning and happy hour by the pool in the afternoon provided a lovely vibe and opportunity to meet other travellers. This was my fifth trip to Honolulu and this hotel was by far the best choice for our family. I would highly recommend Embassy Suites to all age groups, families and singles alike.

Room Tip: Try and request a room above the fourth floor.

We loved our second honeymoon here. View of Diamond Head every morning was great and location could not be beat. Service was top notch. Room was great but not perfect. Breakfast was great start and convenient. Drinks at night were crowded and you could not get too many. Snacks were good but nothing exciting. We got a great rate from AAA - joined it just to get this discount. Beach Walk was great place to waste an hour. Location was close to bus, beach, and everything else.

Room Tip: Get a high room facing Diamond Head

This was a great choice for our first visit to Oahu (we live on the Big Island). The hotel met and exceeded our expectations in every way. From check0in through check-out we were made to feel welcomed. The hotel is a beautiful, clean facility. It is in walking proximity to the beach, shops, restaurants, etc. There is not need to rent a car if staying here, as you can walk to shopping, eating, and beaches, and can sign-up in the lobby for tours if you desire.

Room Tip: Wifo was a bit spotty at times, but otherwise, we had no concerns during our stay.

My daughter and I just spent two weeks at this Hotel. It was great for us as we had a bedroom with queen size beds and a separate lounge/kitchenette, two way bathroom and balcony - which meant we were not under one another's feet!! It also included a free breakfast every morning - which was more than ample for us. Mind you - a lot of people wasted a lot of the food (their eyes were bigger than their stomachs)! Another bonus was the generosity of the happy hour (actually two hours) from 5.30 - 7.30pm. A very generous occasion both with the alcohol and snacks - a lovely time for the families there. They also provided live music four out of seven nights - a great family of males who sang and played well - especially their ukulele player. It was also in a great position and it was good to do a lot of walking (although not too far). The beach was nearby, the pool satisfactory and all around - a great place that made our holiday very enjoyable. Two disappointing comments I would make was we couldn't use the gym or laundry in our Tower - and although a small kitchenette - there wasn't any cutlery or plates. In view of large servings of food when we went out - and everyone happy to give you the leftovers (which were very ample) - there wasn't anything we could eat on or eat with. All in all a great place to stay - thank you Embassy Suites.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the lifts and on the higher floors.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at the Embassy Suites in Honolulu. It is a fantastic Hotel, located a block from the beach with all sorts or stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. It is also very close to the Galleria where you can catch the various trams. We had a room overlooking the pool which was excellent. There is a large pool with attached large hot tub and children's pool. These pools have an incredible bottom surface which is so soft! There are cabana type double chairs available on a first come basis [no extra charge]. There are also plenty of regular lounge chairs. Included in your stay is an amazing buffet breakfast including an omelet station, fresh fruit, juices, tea/coffee/milk, pastries, pancakes, cereals, yogurt, etc. They also have a happy hour in this area, which is a huge lanai adjacent to the pool. Complimentary drinks [beer, wine, cocktails, sangria] and munchies are available nightly from 5:30-7:30. The 2 room suite set-up is very nice and includes 2 TVs, a work desk, complimentary internet, bar fridge, microwave, kettle and coffee maker with the accompanying amenities. Also, for those on a longer stay in Honolulu, I really appreciated the self-serve laundromats on the 3rd floor of each tower. The staff at Embassy Suites were all very professional, friendly and most helpful. They will also hold your luggage at no extra charge if you have a late flight or are travelling onwards. I would definitely choose this location again - it is perfectly situated for eveything and a great hotel in itself.

Room Tip: Get a room in the tower overlooking the pool area - those overlooking the street side may be noisier...

We enjoyed our stay here. Check in is usually from 3pm. However, our flight from Australia arrived at 7.45am and we were at the hotel by 9.30am. We were able to check in straight away, as they had a room available. We had a 2 bedroom unit and it was perfect for our holiday. We stayed in room 524,for 6 nights then went across to Hawaii Island for 3 nights and then came back and stayed in room 724 both in the Hula Tower. On both check ins we received a lovely, refreshing cold juice punch drink. The units were identical and consisted of a room with a queen bed and an ensuite, kitchenette (not much crockery or cutlery), lounge dining and a 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds and a bathroom, perfect for our 2 teenagers. The units were very clean and comfortable. Usually I find pillows a problem at hotels, but this place had great pillows, so I could get a good nights sleep each night. The Embassy Suites include breakfast, which is very good, lots of variety in the food and a nightly Managers Happy Hour from 5pm - 7pm. There are free drinks and snacks. We went a few times to this. Some nights there was a great band entertaining everyone. Our accommodation package also included a Roberts Stars and Stripes tour for everyone. Embassy suites is conveniently located across the road from the beach, there is a Coco Cove convenience store under the building, a large ABC convenience store and a Denny's across the road, the Royal Hawaiian centre is near by and many other places to eat are only a short walk away. It is about a 20 minute walk to the Ala Moana shopping centre. It is about a 2 min walk to the Sheraton, which is a bus terminal pick up point for some of the Islands tours. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and made our stay enjoyable. If you want ocean views from your room, then this is probably not the place to stay, though we did get a view of the ocean from the balcony of room 724. We would definitely stay here again.

The 1 bedroom suite was clean and comfortable, spacious enough for our family of four. Free breakfast was convenient for family members waking up at different times. The food was fine, but we would save the brunt of our appetite for brunch at the Hula Grill or Eggs and Things. My personal favorite things about this hotel is the location and the evening receptions. Free drinks and snacks every evening was a perfect way to cap a fun day at the beach or pool. There was great live music 2 of the 4 evenings we were there. I didn't get a chance to take advantage of the free yoga class this time, but it's nice to have the opportunity to do yoga while on vacation. For all of the amenities and services, it is the best price for a 1 bedroom suite in this location compared to other hotels along this popular block. We loved being able to step outside of the hotel and easily access delicious restaurants, fun shopping, and great beaches. No need for a car. We just had a shuttle drop us off and pick us up. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
