We had a two bedroom, two bath unit for the four of us. The sound-proofing is very well done.. The other couple we were with are early risers and we rarely heard them. Plus, our unit was number 403 which is right next to the elevator and that wasn't a problem either. We were on the inner side of the building and not the side facing Lewers Street, so street noise wasn't an issue. Although the pool was down below that's not what you see when you're in the unit. You see an ugly parking garage. Decor was nice and fresh. Great location for walking around the shops and restaurants, but not so great for the beach access. You have to lug your stuff a ways to reach the sand. We hadn't been to Honolulu for two years and the new Beachwalk area was new to us. Before we got there we thought it would be great to be so close to the Yard House restaurant, but when we walked across the street to eat there one evening it was so loud that we didn't bother. Probably an age thing(I'm 49). Since the Wyndham doesn't provide breakfast it was great to have a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and a Starbucks so close. If you've never been to Honolulu and have an image of a beachfront mega-resort, this isn't that kind of place. It's just a pleasant place to come home to after sight-seeing or beaching it all day. Only cons were the incessant pestering by the timeshare person who called and left notes on the door almost daily and the $25 a day parking fee. Next time we'll know to tell the timeshare person to leave us alone on day one and we'll only rent a car for a day or two when we want to see sites outside of Waikiki. Other than that, we were happy to stay here and would do so again if given the opportunity in the future.

Great Location!!!!
Room 134 facing Lewers Street.
Great room that had the following:
-Full kitchen: (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker)
-two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with jaccuzi) 3 balconies
-excellent location: right across from Yardhouse restaurant, Red Mango, Giovanni's Pastrami, Starbucks.
-Walking distance from beaches (15 min walk to the Duke statue)
-Staff was excellent, we were given shelled Lei's.
-Onsite activities were provided: (ukelele and hula lessons) though we did not partake.
-Only drawback no free breakfast provided, and parking is $25 per day!!! ridiculous!

We enjoyed our one week stay at the Wyndham. We had a Beach Walk view 2 bdrm suite which was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was nicely stocked. We were worried about it being very noisy at night but we were pleasantly surprised how quiet the room was. We didn't even hear our neighbors or people in the hallway!

The only complaints we had were that the dryer was incredibly slow and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable.

We went for our first time to Honolulu. Our room was a corner room and was a very small and cramped. I asked for a upgrade and was told no room available, he didn't even look up anything.
This area is very noisy, with buses going by, and restuarants blaring thier music so lound you could not enjoy a meal in one of them Swimming area was nice but again very noisy from other hotel airconditioning system and parking garage noises.
It was an ok place to have as a base and go do things through out the island. It was not real relaxing to be at the hotel. We did have a smidge of a view of the ocean from the one person balcony.. would have been nice for at least two people to sit out there. The living room has a two seater couch and if hubby was laying on it there was no where else to sit and relax except at the two person dining table that crowded the kitchen area.
The staff is pretty friendly. No one told us what to do about the dirty towels and garbage until the last day.. I guess there is a closet with a large can for garbage.. I wasn't comfortable snoopping to find it..
Bathroom has some mold on the shower wall and the fan did not work. The blow drier didn't work but the maintence man came and removed it and gave me a hand held one to use.

The hotel was in a wonderful location if you want to be in the center of Waikiki's night life. There are several really nice restaurants all within walking distance. It is located on a busy street and can be loud on the weekends and late at night.
The rooms are accomodating, but if you are looking for room service on a daily basis, this isn't it. They clean and provide towels once a week.
The traffic around the hotel is hard to navigate and they do charge a per night parking fee for your rental. This seemed to be the norm in the area.
Overall it's accomodating and is worth the stay for the location. Who stay's in their room in Hawaii anyway.

We stayed at the Wyndham Waikiki for 10 days in July 2009 and enjoyed our stayed. The location was great though you may have to accept somethings like the $25/day valet parking and the traffic which can be bad on certain days due to the construction of the Trump hotel nearby. Like other reviewers, due to its location it can get noisy some times at night due to the bar downstairs. Other than that, everything was a nice walking distance to the International Market, the beach, and restaurants. During our stay, JAL setup free nightly music and dancing in front of the hotel which we nice. The rooms were small but very comfortable and clean. The staff were were excellent.
