Simple, good food. Should get reservations and go a bit early since parking can be weird there. But its worth it. The food is simple, the drinks are reasonable and its a casual laid back place. Nothing hugely pops out but you know its good when you walk in and see some of the "celebrity" chefs and other restaurant owners in there having a good time. Cant go too wrong when ordering and the sushi is actually pretty good. the sake selection is not too bad and not hugely over priced too. I like it. made for a simple easy date night. We bought drinks for two friends, GF and I had a good time and ate so much we left food on the table. $120 with tip. I say thats a deal. and they are actually friendly in there too.

probably not too good for parties over 6 cause it is small. but an izakaya should be that way.

“Torae Torae Torae”

Love this new Izakaya dining experience on McCully between King and Beretania. More than a sushi bar Hide Y. originally from Osaka shares an intimate and trendy atmosphere with affordable Izakaya style foods and its still BYOB. So bring some sake and enjoy small plates of great food made by a master and his team of Japanese creators. Suggest the snow crab croquettes, pork belly kakuni, ahi tartare, Hamachi Kama is a favorite. Restaurant has only few spots in front so turn before and park in bank lot across street. Also late night happy hour after 10pm. Great place if you are local or just visiting and have a car...
