“I so wanted to enjoy this place”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2011

I went here on Tuesday night for dinner with some friends.

I soooo wanted it to be a good meal, I had heard some good things about it, but unfortunately it was not all that.

I had the Loco Moco (pictured) and it was overcooked and way way way too much gravy.

My friends had the Pad Thai and the vege burger and both were very average.

The service was very mediocre.

The atmosphere was nice - amazing when you think it is in the mall.

“Nothing Special, Spotty Service, Won't be Back”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2011

Panya Bistro is located on the second floor of the Ala Moana shopping center. (There is another location at 711 Queen). It offers a Thai/Japanese and bakery menu. Food was nothing special, and service was spotty, with 3 different people serving our table. Appetizers arrived the same time as the main course... what were they thinking? Ordered the vege-burger (two stacked portobello mushrooms) and it was cold despite being cooked? on the grill. At least the french fries were good. We won't be coming back.

OMG. Get the oxtail stew. It will be by far the most expensive thing on the menu, but still only in the teens--and sooo worth it. Rich and flavorful, and delightfully "collagen-y" in texture, it is positively addictive!
