We loved it. The staff is incredibly friendly. It's AUTHENTIC Hawaiian. At the poolside breakfast they have a guitar/uke player and hula dancer. The Tiki bar/restaurant has great food and drink. It's clean! The entire hotel is non-smoking so your room doesn't smell like cigarettes. They have free movies, a PS3 in your room, they will go out of their way to do whatever it takes to make you happy short of changing the weather...we LOVED IT AND WE WILL BE GOING BACK!

Aston WBH is kind of tired, albeit they mask it with Bedroom drapery and Large TV.
extremely tiny balcony, so-so bathroom. We had an oceanfront room, 14th floor, incredible view, Diamond Head to the left, the heart of Waikiki to our right. Kind of balances the preceding negatives. The Tiiki Bar and Restaurant with live entertainment aresuper as they are above street views. Enjoyed the continental breakfast, sitting around the pool with entertainment, all good. ( don't forget to take your breakfast on the beach box)
The Bad: AWBH is near to the Honolulu Zoo, the quiet end of the strip, across from the breakwater beach pool. This is where the homeless and vagrants and other people of less means gather. At all times you can find people sleeping on the beach, lawns, sidewalks in front of the shops, leaving their garbage and who knows what behind, disgusting for such a popular tourist destination. Well we never felt in any danger, but this area is becoming if not already a seedy and disturbing area. We paid big bucks to have an oceanfront, perhaps a few dollars more elsewhere would have left us with better memories.

We recently traveled to this hotel in September for our honeymoon. The hotel was amazing and the hotel staff was always very nice. This was our first trip to Hawaii and we can not wait to visit the Aston again. It is a great location and close to alot of shops, also has easy access to the beach just across the street. We were able to sit on our balcony and enjoy the Hawaii 5-0 Preview. We were excited to find some treats complimentary of the hotel in our room fridge when we arrived. They also gave us a picture frame when we arrived so that we could remember this special time...The nice thing was that we did not have to rent a car because all the activites we wanted to enjoy picked us up in the downstairs of the hotel...We can not wait to visit again!!

Location is great! We stayed on the 8th floor oceanfront and loved the view. The rooms are just right for a couple. Loved Tikis and all that they offer. Breakfast is basic and is a nice extra. We will be returning next week for our 4th visit!

Great location, simply walk across the street to beach. Swimming area is protected by a wall which provides a calm beach. Walkout pier is nice also. Breakfast was more than adequate, yes seating was limited but always found a place to sit or better yet take it back to your room. Deck with partial view was great. Close to shopping. Found the front desk crew on all shifts to be very accommodating, always ready to help.

We were guest there last week during the week of Thanksgiving. Aston Waikiki went above and beyond our expectations. We had reviewed the goods and the bads and felt good about our choice in hotel but WOW.. the hospitality was a 10 out of 10!!! Front desk - Joy and Jon along with Alton(supervisor) and maintanance Todd were all superior in our book. EVERYONE IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL we came in contact with was amazing!!! Thank you for making this vacation one of the best for our family. I highly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: Higher floors are considered "select" rooms but worth the little difference in price. Whe...

Do yourself a favor and stay where you have access to everything in Waikiki and beyond. First and foremost, this was one of the most unique hotels I have stayed in. From the open air lower and upper "lobbies" to the way to access your hotel floor to the amazing views of Waikiki beach and Diamond Head, this hotel had everything necessary for a wonderful experience on an extended vacation. The hotel is directly across the street from Waikiki and within a block of the Honolulu Zoo. Every tour bus, trolley, cab company and transport van had a stop in front of the lower lobby which made accessing the rest of Honolulu, Pearl Harbor and the rest of O'ahu a snap. The staff was very professional and courteous. There was not a time that I was in need of anything. They are attached to Tiki's Bar & Grill that has some of the best food I have ever eaten and a life band most evenings. Each day at breakfast the hotel had a Hawaiian singer and Hula dancer; which made each day have a great start. The only minor drawback is that the breakfast is continental only, unless you wish to pay extra for an omelet (etc.). Thank you for a wonderful experience. I will be back.

Room Tip: The choices are mainly beach view or Diamond Head view (which has a beach view as well, just not as...
