This hotel is located on the east side of Waikiki right on Kalakaua Street. We liked it for three reasons: 1) right across from the beach which meant easy access but affordable, 2) next to the zoo and aquarium, 3) a little removed from all the shopping/stores which is really what Waikiki is about for a lot of tourists (we are not into shopping).
We found the hotel to be clean with attentive staff. They offered us a room upgrade at no extra charge. The upgrade was from an standard room to an ocean view. I must say it was really nice to wake up and drink my coffee on the balcony watching the waves roll in.
The hotel also offers free breakfast with lots of fruit and live music at breakfast. The pool is small, but with the ocean across the street it doesn't get much use; there is however, a lot of poolside seating to relax in. Tiki's restaurant is also in the hotel which is convenient, but pricey like everything else in Waikiki.
If ever back in Waikiki we would stay here again.More
