Stayed here for 3days before a cruise. Loved the location! Close to shopping and right across the street from the beach. The room is a bit small, and the lighting wasn't the best. However the room was clean. Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was a zoo--we took our food to our room to avoid the crush!

It really is right across the street from the beach, and the beach is beautiful. We could see Diamond Head from our room. However, there is a lot of foot and car traffic, so the setting is actually quite urban. On the plus side, it is easy to catch the city bus to other locations and attractions in Honolulu.
Poolside breakfast is quite hectic. There are only a handful of tables and chairs. Most people must resort to searching for an empty lounge chair and tiny little table meant to hold a drink by the pool. It is not relaxing, comfortable, or adequate for a meal. Guests are encouraged to take their breakfast across the street to the beach. However, there are no trays and two people can't possibly put their breakfast into the complimentary mini bag. On the plus side, the breakfast offerings are varied and plentiful and include items for Asian and Western tastes. Miso soup was part of the complimentary offerings, but the only other hot offering (cooked to order omlet) carried a $7 charge.
I thought having live music and hula dancing during the early morning was going to be hokey and annoying, but the guitarist/vocalist and his dancing wife were very good. They added a soothing presence to the bustling, jostling breakfast scene.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better the view of the ocean or Diamond Head.

We stayed in February 2013 for a week to get married. We chose the hotel after reviewing many hotels on trip advisor. The hotel was perfect for us, great location, great staff, great free breakfast, great room. Could not of asked for better. We will definitely go back!

We used this hotel to meet up with our daughter and her family who live in Australia (we live in the UK). We had rooms over-looking the beach. The staff were especially kind and helpful - a special praise to Glenn on the reception who could not do any more to make our stay pleasant. If I return to Honolulu (and I hope to one day) I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: We had very pleasant rooms over-looking the road and beach.
