we stayed for one night and it was the best experience we had. The employees were very helpful and the room were nice. Parking was a little bit complecated but the front desk will help you out on that. Great and affordable hotel!

The hotel staff were fantastic. They new the area and bus system which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and the room phone/internet was free. The continenal breakfast was fruit, juice and buns. A great way to start a day. Mojito night was my hightlight as I met Rene who served the beverage and we had a great discussion about Hawaii. I did find that it was quite noisy from the traffic on Ala Moana Ave as by room was close to the road.

This was my second trip to Oahu and although people tend to think of Honalulu as expensive there are some great options and this is one of them. Having lived in a hotel for a year with work, I like nice hotels and I didn't expect this to be a great hotel but it was and great value for money. I paid for a part city view but upgraged to a King Room on the 9th Floor (907) for $10 a night and it was so worth it.

I know other visitors have mentioned the noise, and it is on Ala Moana Blvd, so yes it's noisy but if like me you carry earplugs there's no problems. The room was spacious, nice furniture, lovely comfortable bed, great sized flat screen TV, and a nice bathroom. The nice large fridge allows you to stash whatever you need in terms of drinks and food and there is a microwave at the back of reception if you need it.

Breakfast was basic but thats fine, the fruit was lovely and free, so can't beat free.

The staff were really friendly and arranged for my hotel pick up which at only $10 is also a bargain.

The pool isn't really usable as its down the side of reception but use the lagoon or the beach at the hilton village, the Equus even give you beach towels so you dont need to stuff them into your suitcase.

The only thing I didnt like was the balcony outside the room wasnt really usable firstly as there wasnt really view and it was noisy, but there were live in pigeons so it was covered in poo.... but as I only used it to dry a towel it didnt affect my stay.

My husband and I came for our 25th wedding anniversary. The room was smaller than we thought it would be but it was very quaint and homey. It was noisy but not too bad. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. We would recommend anyone to stay there.

My husband and I stayed here for five days in March. We loved the hotel! The rooms were a good size, nice decor, very clean and neat. The hotel is far enough away from Waikiki area that it's not overcrowded on the streets, but close enough that you can walk to Waikiki in 20 mins. Also close to Ala Moana Mall, we save lots of money by walking over there and eating some meals in the food court.

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The only negatives were the fact that you had to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs when checking in/checking out, as the lobby was not on ground level. The elevator was also extremely slow, we took the stairs most of the time. The street below was noisy at night, but you are in the heart of Honolulu, so to be expected. Save yourself some money and don't rent a car if you want to get around. The bus system is great or you can walk to many things right in the area. If you are going to rent a car, just know you can haggle with the car rental places for a better deal.

This hotel was upgraded and is nice but you will find that some of it (and various parts of your room) have been left unfinished or half started. So it's half redone, half old/junky. The redone parts are nice. I like that it included breakfast, although there was VERY limited seating area. Pool area was really tiny and with dumpster, etc. nearby, wasn't overly excited to use it. Plus, looked kind of dingy. Breakfast is very basic, but free! This hotel could use some more repairs and to be "cleaned-up". Cheap price though and good location. I liked that parking was included. Oh and elevator almost broke down several times and alarm would go off frequently. Was rather annoying. Even after we reporting the alarm going off to the desk below, it still continued after they supposedly "fixed it". I think this hotel had free Internet which was helpful.

When you arrive at HNL -- the airport has a special flavor.

You smell the bountiful flowers and feel the trade winds on your face...... it is Hawaii.

So is Hotel Equus and it environs. The open air passageways to all the room overlook the yacht club and have much of the same aromatic and visual flavor as one would expect in old Hawaii. Trade Winds are far superior to A/C and a closed up hallway.

We had a super time. it was relaxed as was the staff... supper people...perhaps a touch of retraining... nonetheless they made the stay lovely.

The value $$$ for the room was terrific. The owners must have spent serious $$ on the remodel as our rooms were far better than last stay.

The nonsense charges email, local calls were all complimentary.
Outrigger hit us for 20 cents a minute for our Emails... for what cost them zero.

There is no valet parking or fluffy robes...just a relaxed environment and lovely people.

Mahalo,

One Happy Guest
