The property is huge, it has many positive attributes, and some undesirable ones.
1. Take a ride to Walmart or Costco and stock up on several items.
2. Take advantage of coffee shops off the property.
Both the above items can save you a lot of $$$
The water slide on the website is for ONLY kids in the Kids Club (more $$$)
The staff is very nice, but don't expect each to have the same answers. Frustrating.

Aloha Krafty91384,

Thank you for choosing to stay at the Hilton Hawaiian Village! We are delighted to hear that our staff were very nice and succeeded in sharing the aloha spirit. However, we are sorry to learn about your frustration regarding not consistently receiving the same answers from all our staff. We will be sure to look into the matter to ensure that all guests receive a consistent answer from our staff. The water slide at the Paradise pool is available to all registered guests at no additional cost. We sincerely apologize if there was a misunderstanding and you did not get the chance to utilize the slides. We appreciate you sharing your feedback as we are always striving to improve our services to our guests. We look forward to your return to HHV and to welcome you back for a more enjoyable stay.

Mahalo,

The Hilton is a great Resort, you get what you pay for people. It has the best pools in Honolulu bar far, and pretty much the best location IMHO. It is a 10 minute walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center, so food and shoppiing very close by. And around 15 - 20 mins walk to Waikiki, depending on exactly where you want to go. So you cannot go wrong.
We stayed in the Ali Tower which has been recently renovated and has its own private pool. It does cost extra to stay here though, so be pre warned. Rooms were great, housekeeping great, we were on level 10. The only issue was the bathroom, there is no door between the shower area and the toilet/bathroom. However, we resolved this by buying a $5 shower curtain from Walmart and presto, privacy for all.

As GOLD Hilton member we received an upgrade to a partial ocean view which was great.
The only thing that would give it 5 stars, would be if the beds were queens and not doubles, just a bit too small for two adults. We were given a rollout which made a great difference to our stay.

Food on premises was great, we tried the pizza and suprisingly good value and CJ Deli is great. For us Aussies, both these places were great value and delicious, will put seperate reviews for these.
Have read reviews complaining about the resort fee, well it covers WIFI, free water every day, etc etc and it is explained before you book, so if you dont like it, book elsewhere. If you are after quieter room, well ask at check in for something away from the bar. Its really not that hard. The hilton has 5 towers, so something for everyone. Also a starbucks on site which is a nice touch, but dearer than the regular starbucks you find elsewhere. Overall, another great stay, and a lovely time of year to visit. Mahalo.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher room if noise from bar is an issue for you. The beds are doubles and not queens, so...

This is the nicest property in Waikiki. I cannot believe people complain about it. We have been in the Ali tower since Thursday . The pool people take their jobs very seriously . The have a great room , garden view of the penGuin enclosure . We were here 2 years ago , everything is just as good or better than before . Best beds and pillows ! Shower is great . Anything you would ever need is available in the village . Diamond guest breakfast gets everyday off to a good start . Best best best best best .....

First time there, it is beautiful, we will back in a couple of years. We had a one bedroom Plus suite on the 21st floor near elevator, it was quiet facing the boat dock for the small boat. Next
time we hope to get a suite on the end facing the ocean and stay a little longer and maybe in
March when it is warmer.

We stayed one night after renting a condo for two weeks. Everything was wonderful. We had stayed here the previous year, and although expensive (what isn't in Hawaii), the staff, accommodations and grounds were fantastic. Highly recommended!! Friday night firework display was awesome. A great end to a great day.

Unimpressed - $30 per day resort fee doesn't cover printing a single sheet of paper, the music at the live bars is loud enough that I can sing along in my room on the 9th floor with the windows closed, and the rooms are extremely dated - I'm pretty sure the couch in this room might be older than me. Will not be returning.

Excellent location for beaches, lagoon, restaurants, etc.
20 min walk to Waikiki shopping areas or catch the bus.

Pro
- Beachside location, lagoon, multiple pools
- Starbucks onsite (2)
- Large resort feel
- Check in was surprisingly fast, I was expecting it to be like Las Vegas where it tool 45mins.
- Option to check in early for US $25. Expensive, however, was well worth it gave us an opportunity to have a nap as we arrived 6am
- Free live music in the bars. Lounges.

Cons
- Pools were cold, no hot tub information- was notified as we checked out enquiring about the cold pools.
- Everything in the resort is expensive- although is expected
- Very few resort activities, nothing in the likes of Bali, Thailand, Fiji
- Room was out-dated, to be honest for the price, I was expecting something a little more flashy and modern.
