This hotel is conveniently located at one end of the beach. It is easy to stroll to Waikiki Beach and to all the shops along Kalakaua or to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. There are 4 pools (+1 exclusively for the Ali'i Tower occupants) so there is usually an empty chaise lounge available. There is a fireworks show on Friday night by the lagoon at 7:45 that lasts about 4 minutes. Note that there is a "Resort charge" of $30/day for wifi access, local calls, and resort activities.

We stayed here one night pre and post cruise using our Hilton points, Diamond status, so the stay was free. Upon first checking in I found this place to be maddeningly busy and confusing. There are several towers, pools, shopping areas and restaurants. The first night we were in the Kalia Tower and the room was pretty average with no special view. When we returned for the second night we were in the Rainbow Tower and were upgraded to a corner suite on the 30th floor with two balconies, one looking out over the lagoon, and the other looking out over the ocean. Absolutely spectacular. It seemed as though the water was right under our feet. I was dying to get into that lovely clear water, but we had made other plans, and time did not allow. Would love to come back here with the Grandkids. The lagoon has many activities, stand up paddle boarding, kyacks , water trikes, shallow water in the ocean for snorkeling, etc. great pools, surfing nearby.

Room Tip: Rainbow tower corner suite with views of both ocean and lagoon are absolutely spectacular.

Very courteous staff, excellent facilities and amenities. They try to make it so you do not have to leave the resort for too long. Also very willing to provide upgrades to Hilton Honors patrons without having to ask.

Room Tip: Beach (also poolside btw) side facing Diamond Head.

The Hilton is a nice resort everything was clean, the rooms were nice and the beach was perfect. The downside is the hotel is a 10-15 minute walk to get to the strip which wasn't bad but given everything at the hotel is outrageously expensive for example 9.50 for a hot dog we ended up making the walk often. There is also construction which causes some congestion during transportation drop off and pick up along with the noise factor which was not an issue so much in the room but definitely was by the pool area near our tower on several days.

The only real negative experience occurred when we wanted to extend our stay a week. When I called the front desk the person I spoke to blew us off and I was told to go to the front desk. The desk person there was less then helpful as well. I finally waited to speak with a manager who was nice but my overall impression was no one cared enough to take the time to make this happen which was disappointing given I booked a 10 night stay already. Needless to say they couldn't accommodate this request. Another tip is don't waste your money on the Friday firework show for preferred seating you can see it just as well standing up near the pool. Also when booking activities be sure to ask for your AAA discount and find out how long of a drive the activity is from the hotel including number of pickups and traffic. One activity we booked turned into a 2 hour drive each way in a packed van. We spent more time driving then at the activity.

I would have not have any issue staying here again but my next trip we will probably stay at the Royal Hawaiian or a hotel close to it.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu is like a small village within a large city. There are multiple Hilton hotels, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, swimming pools and of course the ocean. One of my favorite days was the day we rented a poolside cabana and had mojitos delivered all day. This is a vacation that will de-stress anyone.

We spent 6 nights, first timer to any Hawaiian island. The location of the resort is best anywhere in Waikiki, right at the beach and lagoon. Tons of things to do and see within the resort. Multiple pools w/ free towels, multiple small and big restaurant, multiple places for shopping including groceries.

There were 3 couples on this trip. For me and another couple this was our first trip to Hawaii. The Hilton was beautiful and after our arrival we were upgraded to an oceanfront room that I loved. The Staff and facilities were amazing. We were right on the beach and walking distance to eating and shopping. We sat at the bar one afternoon and had drinks during Happy hour..I didn't know there was still such a thing, but they had a bar and resturant that faced the beach it was so nice with music just a great place to eat and hang out. The hotel is spreaded in three directions but after a little while you can find your way easily to Starbucks, the ABC store, Pizza Shop and many more. The hotel was clean and I would see some staff on occasion and they always spoke and ask if I was ok. The beach is close so if you are stayng in one of the ocean front buildings you have no problem getting to and from the beach. The only complaint I have is the customer service desk, there was always a line, the people were nice but we had to wait a long time to book a tour trip, it seemed that they had to call around to check on availabilty, so go early they only had two people there when we were there and a few people left because the wait was so long. We chercked in August 1st and there were so many chlldren so prepare yourself for that, Hawaii is so expensive I never dreamed so many people would have children there like they were. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for couples and family. It will be my first choice when i go back..
