We stayed at this hotel for four nights and it was a great experience. The service was excellent, the staff was always willing to help and make you feel at home. Loved the breakfast, room and location. There are better hotels in Hawaii but for the price, this is one of the best options in Oahu. I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for a great deal.

We stayed at the Hyatt for only one-night but during a visit to the island of Oahu that included a horrible stay at one property (the PK) and a first-class experience at another (Aulani). The Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach was a perfect blend of the two and where we would likely stay were we to return for a lengthier visit to Waikiki only.

We were upgraded to a deluxe city view room, which we understand significantly increases the square footage. Even though the room was city view, we could see ocean from the lanai, which was a nice bonus. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. There was a little seating area, which was nice but the table was this tiny ottoman so not a good place for eating or drinking. The provided breakfast was not amazing but was not horrible. plenty of hot meats and pastries and usually some egg choice. If you care about your coffee, you will need to get it elsewhere.

One tip: have a person in your party take the tray in your room down to the breakfast and stock up on goodies that can take you beyond breakfast.

Aloha Petonza,
Mahalo for your review. The deluxe city views are one of our most popular guest rooms, and glad you had a chance to experience it. We regret if our a.m. Kitchen Skillet offerings did not exceed expectations, but we continue to offer a large variety. It would be a pleasure to serve you again soon.

For the price, I was expecting a bit more. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. The location is good, and the free wi-fi and free breakfast are some of the good things about the hotel. What I was a bit disappointed about was the small size of our ocean view room, and that the air-conditioning only cooled so much. It was very hot when we stayed there, so we were sweating the entire time even with the air-conditioning set on the lowest temp we could get it. The free breakfast sounded nice, but beware as it's somewhat of a madhouse with screaming kids and families everywhere grabbing food like it's going to disappear.

Aloha 1Foodie1,
Mahalo for your review. We regret that your guest room did not exceed expectations. We do offer "deluxe rooms" with more square footage that may be a better fit for you should you decide to return. When dining on the 3rd floor is not an option, we recommend using the in-room trays to carry out breakfast and enjoy in the comfort of your own guest room. We appreciate your feedback on our friendly staff!

We stayed at the Hyatt for the first week of November, with the intention of just chilling out for a week. We found the hotel perfect for this. To go through the things I would want to know: Location, two minute walk to the beach but off the main road. Our balcony did not have the best view (3rd floor) but we were on the same floor as the breakfast. The room was OK, nice bed, shower only, but roomy enough. As an FYI, if you sat on our balcony you needed to turn the aircon off as it pumped warm air onto the balcony (unless you want a heated balcony!). The buffet breakfast (included) was OK and had the added advantage that you could take it back to your room on the supplied trays. The staff were always welcoming and could not help enough. BTW, the hotel will supply beach towels FOC so no need to fill up you case with them. Simply take them in the morning and return at night so you always have fresh one's. So with the rooms, the staff and the extra's we found it good value and would return. If there is a downside, it would be the open bar area which is not that welcoming as it's on a main walk through, but with all the bars in Waikiki, it's not an issue!!

After looking at various hotel options in Waikiki, the Hyatt Place seemed to be the best value. Self-parking was $18 (a steal compared to other hotels at $25/night) with valet parking at $25.

Our room on the 18th floor was very very clean -- everything looked quite new still and the carpet was clean enough for our infant to crawl around on. The views aren't much given all the hotel towers nearby but we didn't really care about that. The staff are super friendly and I felt like I was hanging out with friends!

Another plus was the skillet breakfast. Tasty and just enough variety that we were still enjoying it 5 days later. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

After a lot of reviews and research we chose this hotel and felt lucky that we did so. The Hotel Staff was very friendly and hospitable. The Breakfast was excellent and the beach was just a few minutes away. I was lucky to get a self parking spot which can be reserved for the duration of your stay. Overall nice hotel with an excellent ambiance. The ABC stores are nearby just in case you need to buy some stuff. We had an ocean view balcony which was really nice.

Room Tip: The City facing rooms are equally good as the Ocean facing Rooms.

Started our 10 days in Hawaii with a quick 2 nights in Waikiki and tried the Hyatt Place. Hotel is a block off the Main Street that runs along the beach at the far end by the Honolulu Zoo. Staff was very friendly and the room fairly upgraded although you can definitely tell the rooms were once old with popcorn ceilings and old textured walls. They tried to scape down the ceilings and paint over the texture which does a somewhat good job of giving the room an updated look but you can definitely tell it was once an old style Waikiki hotel. Bed was very comfortable and the furniture updated. Our room had a very nice Lanai which wrapped around to see some of the Pacific through the buildings. The free breakfast offers a basic meal to get your day started and saves you lots of money as meals in Waikiki tend to be expensive. Pool was kind of a letdown as it's tiny and the fitness room also leaves a little to be desired but all in all a very reasonable place to stay in Waikiki. They also don't charge an annoying resort fee like almost every other hotel in Hawaii.

Aloha Schneickos,
Mahalo for telling us about your experience at the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach. Yes, our hotel was renovated about three years ago and underwent a major renovation to refresh our guest rooms and public spaces. We hope you enjoy our contemporary decor and breathtaking views from your private lanai. Our hotel offers the resort feel without the hefty resort fees that other hotels impose on their guests.
