This was the last hotel that we stayed in on our way home after a 6 week adventure in USA and we could not have had a better ending to our holiday.
We were in a Partial Ocean View Room which was located on the pool side of the hotel and we were on one of the higher stories. We had a good view of the Ocean from our balcony.
The room was big and comfortable and was quiet.
The staff at this hotel were exceptionally friendly. They made you feel welcome as soon as you got out of the taxi upon arrival. They were quick to respond to any requests and there were smiles planted on everyones faces.
The atmosphere of the hotel was very tropical and relaxed with a cabana style setup around the pool area and nice sitting areas and shops on the bottom floor.
There is full pool side service for cocktails and food and plenty of lounge chairs to relax on. The sun didn't always hit us when we were by the pool as the pool is positioned between the hotel and the adjacent hotel which means that when the sun was low it didn't reach past the buildings. However, you walk straight out the front of the hotel onto the beach which was always bathed in sun. The hotel is the last on the strip of all the big hotels so there is a park next to it with plenty more beach. There are heaps of activities right on the beach out the front so you do not need to go far. However, since it was at the end of all the major hotels you were still out of the hussle enough to relax. It was a very short walk to all the shopping and restaurants. There were two restaurants at the hotel which were both located on the beach front. One was a more relaxed buffet style restaurant for all meals and the other was a bit more classy with great food.

My husband and I spent 4 nights here during the Easter period and found this hotel to be perfect! The location is ideal as it is close to the various bus stops and also has a lovely park nearby. And the beach is merely a few steps away! The hotel staff were always very pleasant and the room was spacious and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the nightly Hawaiian entertainment, comprising of musicians and singers, whilst enjoying a cocktail by the bar. Would definitely come again!!

This huge and sprawling hotel complex is central, on the beach and close to many downtown Waikiki shops and restaurants. On the main ground floor there is a long corridor of shops including a Starbucks, a big outdoor pool with two hot tubs and a swirl pool surrounded by lots of deck chairs, tables and umbrellas. There is a manned shack that dispenses clean towels and cold cups of water. There is also a large restaurant with a beach view and access. There is a bar near the main entrance that has nightly live music (but doesn't stay open very late unfortunately if you want a nightcap). Pros - most places are within walking distance, the rooms are up to date, very clean, free wifi, and helpful and courteous staff. You can also leave your luggage with the porters if you have a late flight, and a "refresher room" available. Cons - it can get quite busy and crowded on the main floor by the pool, shops and restaurant, and if your neighbours are rather noisy guests (screaming, tantrums and door knocking games) it can make sleep a bit fitful despite the comfortable bed and fresh linen.

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the higher floors if you want it more quieter.

This hotel has everything. The pool and hot tubs are so relaxing, there is a choice of three restaurants, live music every night. The staff is friendly and helpful, always trying to please. The rooms are spacious, clean and charming. Enjoyed the Lani, even with partial ocean view.
Being on the beach is amazing, went for walks after each meal.

Room Tip: Ask for what you want, they are so accommodating.

This really is a great property. Location, facilities, concierge/activities,rooms, resturants, pool, parking and beachfront, its all here. We stayed in an POV room on the 15th floor with plenty of POV for the money. The bed was so comfy and large, with crisp linens/towels and plenty of toilettries and coffee/tea etc. The lania was a little small but the room was generous in size. The lifts were speedy and all public areas were spotless. Our room wasnt made up until after 3pm most days, the only real downside of our stay.We ate poolside and at Shorebird both were value for money and delicious.Shorebird has a great holiday atmosphere on the beachfront.I love the Aloha of Outrigger properties and make it a point of staying with them whenever possible.

Room Tip: 15th floor was great, very little noise and decent POV.

My friend and I just got back from an amazing week at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. Amazing location right on the beach. (I would suggest bringing beach shoes as the ocean in front of the hotel is rocky). Crystal clean, warm water. Loved the pool - there were always deck chairs and loads of sun starting about 10:30 a.m. From reading the other reviews I was worried about "the harassing timeshare ppl" - but we had no problems - maybe because we were two females. The employees in the one skincare shop in the hotel were slightly annoying as everytime we walked by they tried to lure us into their store, but we just kept walking. The only complaint we had was when we ordered room service. My suggestion - do not order room service. The food was horrendous. I mean, what chef would top a hamburger with ROTTEN tomatoes??? I mean, come on!! The price of our food was also not what the menu in the room said it was going to be - it was $4.00 more for each entree and my friend's dinner was not at all what the menu in the room said it was going to be. So all in all, don't order room service. They would not take anything off the bill either, so we had to suck it up... $50.00 for a salad and a terrible rotten tomato hamburger - and this is why I'm writing this review - as we were not happy about this. When we complained at check out, the service desk lady actually told us to write a review on TPA. ?? OK - so I did. On the other hand, we would definitely stay here again - the room they gave us was awesome - beautiful view of the beach, even when I was sitting on the bed. (we had a partial ocean view). Very quiet, except for the waves crashing on the beach...lol. What more could one ask for? Thank you!

Room Tip: Try and get a room in the Ocean Tower - we had room 514 and it was great.

Mahalo for taking the time to review the Reef and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Your comments on how we handled, or rather mishandled, your room service order was enlightening and has proved to be a teaching tool for our food service and front office staffs. Please allow us to host you on your return to lovely Island.

Mahalo and Warmest Aloha

Valet service excellent, check-in excellent, rooms (partial ocean view) excellent, availability of interconnecting rooms without any fuss excellent, choice of in-hotel shops excellent, choice of three restaurants excellent. Location RIGHT ON THE BEACH, excellent. Concierge service, excellent. You might see a theme emerging here. Simply put, I can't recommend it highly enough. They don't mind you traipsing sand through the lobby areas, all 3 restaurants are relaxed about dress-codes. Housekeeping services were superb. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a live band in one restaurant every night, and karaoke in another, but we had no noise disruption at all from either the beach, street or in-hotel entertainment.

In short this hotel excels itself, most notably in its free cultural/heritage activities, for example: lei making with the most beautiful orchids, hula dance lessons, ukelele playing, hawaiian names, heritage walk through Waikiki.

Now I've mentioned Waikiki, this is an iconic resort for a reason, it is superb. A small city right on the beach. Everything you could wish for from Prada and Cartier through to catamaran booze crews at sunset.

Room Tip: We had partial ocean views in rooms 510 and 509 which were interconnecting (in the Ocean Tower). Oce...
