I stayed here with my husband and kids. It was very clean, comfortable and the location was great. The entire staff is always very helpful. The valet guys are super courteous and friendly. Our room overlooked the zoo and the beach, it was an extraordinary view and location. We were on the 17th floor, so street noise was minimal. Our only comp,in was the lack of water pressure on the shower and the cold pool. Would have been perfect if it was heated. Other than that t was a great hotel to stay at and we would return there if we went back to Honolulu.

Room Tip: Higher floors are the best, you here the street noise less.

Stayed for four nights. Had to switch rooms as noisy a/c. Decent beds. Nice staff. But in need of updating. Worn shower and bathroom sink. Decent bath products. Nice flat screen and small fridge. Good valet parking. OK choice in very good location.

Aloha! Thank you for sharing your recent stay and we truly appreciate your comments. We sincerely apologize for the noisy A/C and the worn shower and bathroom sink. For your information, we are addressing both items and our refinishing of the vanity and bathtub with lighting improvements over the sink should be completed by the end of this year. We are also
replacing the A/C units to split systems, which will be quiet and efficient, leading to less electric
consumption.

Thank you for mentioning the beds, nice 42" flat screen TV, and small refrigerator in every room.
One thing we are very proud about is your comment regarding nice staff and good valet service, for we are very proud of our staff.

If I may be of service during your next visit, please do not hesitate to give me a call.

Mahalo,
Ron

We just returned home from our second stay at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel in Honolulu. We enjoyed our first visit there 5 years ago but this stay was better. The hotel underwent a remodel a few years back and new life, complete with great concierge supports and 2 new shops (AWESOME ice cream, btw) now perks up the lobby. Rooms have been updated some. The bathrooms would benefit from additional improvements but were adequate. We enjoyed a hearty buffet breakfast in an open area near the pool. Our room was on the zoo-side of the building with expansive views of Diamond Head and monkey-pod trees at the zoo and neighboring park. We loved hearing the howler monkeys at dawn. :-)

This hotel is about 2 blocks up from Waikiki Beach and is off the beaten path of the main shopping strip. Starbucks was a 3 minute walk from the lobby.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping services were wonderful.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the Diamond Head side for beautiful sunrises and a view of the well-shaded zoo and park. We heard a lot of morning traffic (delivery and garbage trucks) from the 5th floor. Recommend choosing

Aloha! Thank you for sharing your recent stay with us and it was wonderful to hear that you had a comfortable stay. We are continuing to make improvements to the property such as WIFI thru
out, Valet Service, Concierge support and a delicious ice cream shop. As we speak, we are refinishing the vanity and bathtub, and adding improve lighting in the bathroom to create a better bathroom experience.

Like you, we believe that our location is ideal, minutes from world famous Waikiki Beach, beautiful Kapiolani Park across the street with iconic Diamond Head as a back drop...what a view. Location with service equals a comfortable stay, Thank You for mentioning that the Staff is very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping services were wonderful.

This is a fun, great hotel in a wonderful location. Our room overlooked the zoo, Queen Kapiolani Park and Waikiki beach. It was a very short walk to the beach, restaurants, Starbucks and shops. The hotel staff were extraordinarily helpful and friendly. The room was dated, but met all of our basic needs. The bed was comfortable. The towels were softer and fluffier than at the resort we stayed at the week before! It was a bit noisy, but that is because Waikiki is noisy by nature. However, I thought this hotel was in a quieter location than other Waikiki hotels that I have stayed at.

To be honest....this is NOT a resort. Someone looking for a resort experience will be disappointed. But, if you are looking for a great Waikiki location without a resort price, then this is a good hotel to stay at.

If you stay, stop at the Kokoa ice cream shop in the lobby. Amazing ice cream!

My husband and I just returned home from a two week stay. We were surprised the valet fee had gone up since last year. However, having said that, valet service was great. As always. House-keeping staff (Mata, in particular) was absolutely marvelous. Took care of our every need. Bell desk (Shane and company), and check-in staff very accommodating. Always helpful. This was our third stay at the Queen Kapiolani, and hopefully will not be our last. Also, I like the closeness of the beach, and the zoo. And the parks.

Room Tip: Even the rooms with the city view are nice. Especially the corner rooms. Like the higher floors best. Less street noise. Diamond Head view is spectacular.

Aloha! Thank you for sharing your recent stay with us, for we certainly appreciate your comments. The Valet fees have gone up, but we are still considered one of the more reasonable costing valet services in Waikiki.

It was wonderful to hear that the Valet service was great and the Housekeeping staff was absolutely marvelous, taking care of your every need. Also, the Bell Desk and Front Desk were very accommodating and always helpful. We are very proud of our employees, for they represent Queen Kapiolani Hotel and the people of Hawaii.

If we can be of assistance during your fourth visit, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
