We go to Hawaii almost every year, and we always stay at the Sherton Priness. We have never had any problems with this hotel. It is in a perfect location, and we are within walking distance of everything. We have been staying here for about five times, and we love this location, the hotel, and the service. The last year we went was July 2010, and we will probably go again in 2012.

Room Tip: Get a corner room, That way you will have the view of the ocean, and at night the city lights a...

We had 5 nights in the SPK in February 2012 after seeing a 50% off sale in a newspaper article. After reading a number of reviews on Trip Advisor, we didn't expect too much to be honest so we were pleasantly surprised. Maybe the hotel isn’t the newest in the area but at the price it was excellent value. The bed was very comfortable, it was spotless and the location was great. We upgraded to High Ocean View rooms and even then it was only $150 per night. From the balcony of our room we could look up Kalakaua Avenue and our friends had a room right on the corner and had great views of Waikiki beach. At night the sounds of street music wafting up was very enjoyable. I imagine if you got rooms at the back it wouldn't be as enjoyable but we had no complaints. Our friends scored a corner room which gave them a great view of Waikiki.
The only downside was that the sliding door on to the balcony did let some street noise in at night.

Room Tip: A corner room has the best balconies

I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect. Beach across the street, shopping is right on the way out of the lobby and the bar had THE BEST Mai Tais! There is so much to do in Waikiki you are hardly in the room anyways. If you are looking for luxry-this is not the place, but its comfortable and clean.

Room Tip: I got a Partial Ocean View- it was great to see the city lights at night too. I think the basic your...

The hotel is in a fantastic location however, staff are extremely haughty and rude particularly reception staff. Upon check out we're were treated as complete idiots as the hotel charged us twice for the resort fee, when we disputed the second charge we were treated like dirt by the clerk Celeste, who is certainly not an asset to the hotel. The rooms are tiny, bathroom very small and the lifts slow. The hallways are in dire need of a coat of paint, overall a very shabby effort by Sheraton and would not stay here again.

This is the most disappointing stay I have ever had at a hotel--particularly a Sheraton. We checked in late, had no bell service so we had to lug our bags from the parking garage. We check in go up to our room and discover someone else in it. We go back down and get another room. There we get first hand experience at how thin the walls are. We get another room that is the smallest room I had ever seen, my AAA agent agreed. Our king bed had turned into a double. There was literally only a foot of space to walk at the end of the bed. No space for toiletries in the bathroom. This was not worth the price we paid. Our AAA agent got us another room, much bigger. But I would not recommend this hotel ever. The staff is friendly, but only marginally interested in making things better (we received two drink vouchers and a breakfast voucher for our trouble, a nice gesture). We left our leis in one room refrigerator when we changed and we capped the front desk as they said to do if we forgot them. We left a message at lost and found and they were not given back to us even though we called within an hour of changing rooms. The rooms are worn and badly needing of updating. Our last room had peeling wall paper, torn carpet, badly peeling/dinged furniture, and if you look too closely at anything in the bathroom you'll see fixtures that are miscolored from rust, mildew, or mold.
You will note most of the good reviews are from the slightly more expensive rooms that come with a balcony. Those rooms are an okay size. The cheaper rooms are where we started and were upgraded to the better.

I would also like to note that our bathtub in our last room was clogged when we got there. They have clear maintenance issues and I would only expect this hotel to get worse than better.

We stayed at the PK two years ago on the recommendation of our Travel Agent. This time we asked to be booked at the PK. We requested a room facing the pool but got a room at the back of the hotel. As they were totally booked they couldn't make the change at check-in. After we spent a night in the room we didn't bother to follow-up on a room change. The furnishing are older but in good repair. The bathroom is dated with a pedistal sink. Had a 32" flat screen TV. The bed was excellant and the linens we're crisp and of a high quality. We had 4 pillows for our King size bed, 2 that were firmer and 2 softer. Housekeeping staff was wonderful, would leave us extra bottled water, extra towels, didn't need to ask each day. They always asked about our day and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our stay. The only negative thing is the resort fee. If you had a car and used the parking it would be a good deal. The water and fruit at the beach was OK but definately not worth the $12.00 per day they charged. The PK is very conveniently located across from the beach and near lots of good restaurants and shopping. Should we return to Wakiki, would probably stay at the PK again.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights - and that was plenty. The hotel looks nice from the outside and is in a convenient location, but the rooms are small and outdated. We were surprised at the bathroom - very small, no fan, some obvious mold, and the worst - ants! We called the front desk about them, they didn't seem surprised at all and sent someone up with ant killer. Killed some ants, but the room stank for the rest of the stay. Additionally, the ants were back the next day. The only really positive thing I can say is that the bedding was fairly comfortable.
