The hotel has a beautiful lobby, but the experience stops there. Our room was distressed and dated, it looked like a fresh coat of paint could have been applied 5 years ago. This stay was a waste of Aeroplane points and not recommended.

My family stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki in March 2014 as part of a Globus Tour. Although exhausted from an 11-hour flight, we were immediately impressed with the Sheraton enough to meander around the hotel before crashing for the night. This hotel has a striking presence – its 30+ stories tower above other hotel in the area and is right in the middle of fantastic and busy Waikiki beach – the location really cannot be beat. It is situated right across from the middle of the Royal Hawaiian Center, an open-air mall featuring great shopping, an ABC store for anything you may have forgotten/souvenirs, and a food court on the 2nd level that we used a few times to avoid pricy hotel/bar food (Mahaloha Burger!) Our room was on the 27th floor and had an amazing view of Waikiki. It was incredible to wake up every day and watch people on paddleboards and surfboards early in the morning as you sip coffee on the balcony! The room was small, but had all the conveniences one would need while on vacation (coffee maker, blow dryer, plenty of toiletries). Housekeeping was excellent. The adult-only infinity pool area was great and we had no trouble finding chairs. There is also a larger kid-friendly pool that is fenced off to contain the children (nice if you are looking for some peace and quiet). The downside – no chairs on Waikiki beach, $45 to rent for the day. We ended up spending the day at the hotel pool to keep away from the crowds. We also really enjoyed not having to do our shopping during the day – we were able to spend daylight at the pool or on tours, and saved dinner and shopping for nighttime – Waikiki shops are open until 9-10pm. As for restaurants, we ate at Kai Market for breakfast every morning. They have a very nice buffet of hot and cold breakfast items, fresh fruit and Asian-inspired dishes. We also had the Saturday night dinner buffet at Kai Market – we were told it was fantastic, but we thought it was just so-so – many items catered to the Japanese clientele and weren’t exactly what we are used to coming from Pennsylvania. However, it was interesting to try foods such as mochi – never would have done that without the buffet! All the Kai Market meals were covered in our Globus Tour, so I cannot comment on the cost/value. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much and would have no qualms about staying here again.

This has got to be my most favorite place ever! I love the atmosphere, the open and airy lobby, the beautiful pools, but most of all the people who work here. Everyone is so pleasant and they go out of their way to make your stay a memorable one. We absolutely love Henry, Jessica , and everyone else in the club room on the 30th floor. These people are the best, always greet you with a smile and always remember us from our previous stays which goes a long way in my book. We were also impressed with a certain individual , Estivez I believe, who happens to be new to the pool bar and always greeted you with a smile. In my opinion, you measure a hotel's success not by the beautiful grounds or rooms but rather by all of the positive interactions between the customers and the people who work there and Sheraton Waikiki has met this.

Room Tip: Any room is great. An ocean view or ocean front gives you more privacy.

We stayed at the Sheraton Waikiki and while the location is amazing and the service was excellent, the rooms were basic - sparse even. Perhaps they expect that guest will not stay for long in the rooms or by having a drab room interior you would be encouraged to be out and about. But I do think the drabness of the room took away from our experience. The bathroom sink looked like an industrial kitchen sink. I thought that was weird. Access to Waikiki beach was great. We were even given a goodie bag to fill for free from the Sheraton store. The hotel was a stones throw from the malls and from great restaurants in the area.

Stay here if you are only using your room to sleep. If you plan to stay longer in room, it may not be the best place.

We stayed in a superior room and are Starwood members.

This hotel was clean and filled with very friendly, helpful staff. The beach staff at the infinity pool namely, Larry, went out of their way to make sure our time was amazing. Although prices were high for food and drink, they were comparable with other places locally. I would recommend this hotel as a wonderful and relaxing destination for anyone interested! Plan on returning next year!!

We spent our first week at a house in Lanikai and decided to give our kids (8 & 11) the final two days at Sheraton Waikiki (3/23-25). Most of the time was spent at the pool using the slide and hanging out. Pool attendants Mike Inabnitt, Erin Wickersham and Ashley (?) were great to our kids, very helpful and made our last few days in paradise awesome. Kendall who runs the surfboard stand was also very helpful with getting our daughter set up with a long board and how to surf. The hotel has everything we needed, breakfast, lunch and dinner and very accessible to the shopping district. We definitely recommend the Sheraton Waikiki and make sure to use the pool!

We are staying here for a wedding in June, and thought we'd stay here on our Feb trip to see how it was. Great location, lotsa people. The staff were very nice. The pool was very nice, but quite busy. Rooms are a little dated, but we weren't in them much so no biggie.

My only gripe was the resort fee. Paid $150+ for...
-Daily parking I didn't use since we had no car
-Phone calls which we made none
-Pool floats which we didn't use because the pool was like a sardine can
-Water
-Wifi once

So $15 for bottled water and one time wifi usage. Steep. I think we may rethink our June stay. We'll be there for 9 days and don't want to pay over $300 for water.

Aloha and mahalo for your recent review of our resort. We are very happy to know you enjoyed our location, staff, and pool areas. We hope you will return in June and hope you get more use out of our resort fee inclusions then, we are confident that our resort fee has the most benefits when compared to similar resorts here in Waikiki. Mahalo nui loa for your comments and a hui hou.
