Stayed here in early 2014 during Pro Bowl weekend. Rooms were a bit small and didn't receive the upgrade we were told we'd receive being Platinum and all. The room was still acceptable. Due to being on a lower floor, we were subject to all the noise in the club/restaurant on the lobby level. Club lounge made up for a lot though. Great view, good, spirits and staff! I definitely recommend staying here!

The Sheraton Waikiki was a good place to stay with a family but it had its share of ups and downs.

It's a HUGE resort, and as a result there is no personal touch. For instance I received an e-mail ahead of time asking for the names of everyone in my party (we were a group of eight, taking up three rooms), so they could be in the computer and they'd be prepared for us. Of course, on arrival, despite my detailed e-mail back, they had none of our information inputted. I spent a long time on the phone with reservations making sure we had "full ocean views" (she called them "turtle rooms," because of their view of the turtles swimming. At no time did any of us see a turtle), and our rooms had a huge city view... plus a bit of ocean. The front desk assured me that the "half city/half ocean" was indeed an "ocean/turtle room." Pricey city view!

On the upside the amenities are great for kids. The restaurants in the hotel have kids menus and there is a pizza place on site. The hotel's activities are fun, although it wasn't super clear that for some of them (like the hula lesson), you had to sign up in advance--I found that out by chance, but my daughter really loved participating and it was great that they had it there.

The pool with slides is great, and I was impressed at the diligence of the lifeguards watching over the slide. They were careful to make sure kids had cleared the bottom before letting the next child (or adult--I used the slide too) go down. The pool chairs on the side are piled on top the other and unless you reserve a chair with your towel early, you'll end up about a mile away from the pool. It seemed a bit of nickel-and-diming that to get the really prime chairs, right in the water or with the hoods, you had to pay yet more on top of the not-cheap rooms and the daily resort fee.

The noise is pretty extreme. For such a family oriented hotel, the club scene was quite loud. The band was playing in the bar at top volume. I called the front desk and was assured that the band stopped at 8:30 p.m. The music didn't quiet until after midnight.

The rooms themselves are small and like any Sheraton hotel room you might expect. Nothing special. I didn't find the service to be particularly wonderful. In fact, the tour/info desk actually sent my daughter and me a mile out of our way (on foot) on our search for shaved ice.

We did use the spa while we were there and that was superb (and the service in there as great). The massage I had was amazing. Total raves for the spa. I also enjoyed the adult-only infinity pool. Of course, because it's adult only, I couldn't go in at the same time as my husband, because someone had to be with the kids, but it was super relaxing on the floats in the water there.

Overall, if I were traveling with friends or just adults, no way would I stay here again. But if I were going back with the kids, I would definitely consider staying again.

This is our 4th visit in 5 years to Waikiki and keep coming back to the Sheraton Waikiki. The pools are amazing for children, location ideal and overall experience always worth the money.

We were amazed at the level of service provided by the staff at the Sheraton, especially Sharon who did an amazing job at the swimming pools. Her interaction with the guests and the care she provided to the children showed that she really enjoys her work.

We can not wait to come back to the Sheraton Waikiki, a huge Mahalo to the staff and a bigger Mahalo to Sharon, you rock!!!

Our first mistake was only booking 3 nights. When we arrived at the pool, we were greeted by the staff. Filippo and the rest of the pool staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Even if we didn't want to rent a Mini cabana, they were willing to help us out.
The pool area is beautiful, and the service we received also from the poolside servers, was better than anything else we experienced during the rest of our trip.

Our family comes here every year. We love the hotel but the real reason we come is the staff. Filipino and Logan remember us by name!
Rooms are more than soso but everything else is top notch. Especially pool staff!

There's no doubt that the Sheraton is the closest hotel to the beach in Waikiki. The beach in front is very nice and the pool and grounds are also attractive. We had dinner one evening at Rum Fire and enjoyed our food with a great view of Diamond head in the background. Our room layout was a little odd, no sofa or chairs, just open floor with a desk in the corner. We didn't come in contact with many employees but those we did were pleasant. The hotel was crowded, had almost a Vegas Mega Casino Resort feel to it, just has a great beach in back.

If you can handle the crowds I would recommend the Sheraton if you want to be on Waikiki Beach.

Room Tip: Obviously oceanfront is what everybody wants, if you cant have that ask for South facing view and yo...

We weren't impressed by this sheraton and food was pricy we found (breakfast). No wifi, very pricy for what we paid (we were 2 in a room). The staff was friendly and they took the time to suggest things to see/eat. There is a tourist stand and the beach was nice. Though we explored other ones as waikiki beach isn't one of the best. Personally i wouldn't go back to THIS sheraton. Though if you don't find a better location/price then this should be more than enough. Anyway you'll spend your time outside...
