“Great hotel for your Honolulu/Waikiki vacation”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

We stayed at the hotel for 10 wonderful days in March 2012. It's a large hotel and the bottom floor has several boutiques, restaurants and bars. And pools of course.

The rooms are quite small but very clean and tidy. We got a room on the top 3rd of the floors (don't remember the exact floor) and the view was terrific.

Every morning we went down to the pool dedicated for adults, we started with a swim and some sun and reading. After an hour we went to the luxury breakfast buffet to enjoy all the they had to offer.

It's the perfect hotel for couples. You can choose if you want the quiet life or party life, there are bars suitable for both choices.

There are rental cars available and all that Honolulu can offer is located just outside the premises.

This hotel is located at the heart of Waikiki, where basically you don't really need to have a rental car unless you wan't to drive around the Island for sight seeing. There are lots of restaurants and shopping area that are within the walking distance with a variety of food choices. The famous Waikiki beach is located right behind the hotel next to the swimming pool where you can get there from your room within minutes. Due to peak season in summer, the pool was crowded where it was difficult to find loungers and chairs unless you arrive before noon. I would definitely stay again if I visit Honolulu again.

This hotel was a great start to our holiday this is our second time staying here last time we were upgraded for free & we thoroughly enjoyed it. The infinity pool is great, it's a great area to just relax with a cocktail & watch the world go by. The hotel staff are all great & very helpful we are also Starwood preferred guests & we were treated fabulously!!!!! The hotel is also centrally located to shopping & nearby restaurants it is in a great location. We are looking forward to coming back here in the next week to finish off our Hawaiin holiday.

We stayed here for a week in August, and there were quite a few things about the hotel that we liked. We were high up on the 21st floor with an amazing view of Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head. It was worth it just for the view. The room was also comfortable, with two double beds and more than adequate space for our needs. It was also fun having a Lawson's Convenience Store in the hotel as it made me nostalgic for when I lived in Japan. There is great access to beach, and the central location can't be beaten. We also really enjoyed the infinity pool in the early mornings. The infinity pool was very crowded in the afternoon, but we did other activities at that time.

I supposed the only thing stopping me from giving this hotel a higher rating was the terrible internet connection. After booking a hotel and airfare package, guests are still hit with a $30/day "resort fee". You can imagine that this charge adds up over a week. It is supposed to include parking, but we didn't have a car, so that benefit was lost on us. Ah well. It was also supposed to include wireless internet, but the signal was just terrible. Part of the fun for me when travelling is planning where I'll go the next day using Trip Advisor, but this was almost impossible with the terrible internet wi-fi in our room. We were continually knocked out of the internet, and we were often unable to connect. It was very frustrating. I also wasn't able to make any reviews for TripAdvisor unless I connected to wi-fi somewhere else. When I mentioned this problem as we checked out, the desk clerk did apologize, but there was no offer to refund anything from the resort fee (which was supposed to include wi-fi). In other words, we paid for a service that we didn't receive, which was very disappointing. An offer of some spg points would have also been acceptable to make up for our disappointment, but it wasn't forthcoming. All in all, when you check in, if you need wi-fi, be sure to insist that you receive a room with a strong signal.

Although the hotel was nice, I don't think we'll book in here again because of this experience of having to pay for a service that we didn't receive.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a strong wi-fi signal. The wi-fi is terrible here.

This hotel was exactly what my family needed at the end of our 12 night vacation on Oahu. We are Starwood Preferred Guests, so we got a bit of a deal. The pool area was fantastic and so were the restaurants! Stephanie the lifeguard was full of good information and advise. We are already talking about the next time we visit Oahu; we will be sure to stay at the Sheraton Waikiki.

Room Tip: The partial ocean view rooms are lovely.

My husband and I spent 2 nights here at the end of our honeymoon and really enjoyed almost everything about it. The whole place is fun and kind of insane - like a Vegas/Beverly Hills/Tokyo shopping mall. The hotel is designed to cater to Japanese tourists, which personally we loved because there were some great Asian snacks in the convenience store, and we prefer being around tourists from countries other than America. A lot of Australians were there too.
We got upgraded to a room with a breathtaking view of Diamond Head, plus we got a nice gift for being on our honeymoon. The location is amazing, obviously - we could walk to nearby restaurants, Waikiki beach, the aquarium, etc. We spent a lot of time by the infinity pool, which was awesome and we loved. The food was pretty good at the Edge, surprisingly so, and the drinks were great. Service was mostly great with a few exceptions.
My main complaint is that at the infinity (adults) pool, there is literally no way to secure a pool chair with a direct ocean view unless you either pay for a cabana or a chair (or are a starwood gold member or whatever). I get the cabana thing, no problem there. But the row of chairs in the water, or the row of chairs reserved for members, should be up for grabs in a hotel this expensive. I think this was mostly a problem stemming from the layout around the pool, but I digress.
Personally this didn't bother me too much because we were just coming off a week in Maui where we had all the ocean views we needed. But if our trip had only been to Honolulu I would have been pissed. It's a pretty cheap thing to pull on guests. That kind of thing is one of my pet peeves and if this had not been the case I'd rate this place 4 stars.
That said, one of the best things about the hotel was hanging out by the infinity pool, watching the huge sea turtles swimming right there in front of the hotel. I'll never forget it and it was one of our favorite parts of the trip.

Excellent location with walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants. Our suite was big enough for family of four with view to ocean. Staff was very friendly, specially Adelina who went out of her way making sure our kids had good time. If you prefer beach with city life than this one is a good location.
