after staying in another hotel the previous week we were delighted to stay here. this hotel is in a prime location and great value for money. It is clean and relatively modern. staff were very friendly and everything is conveniently located. the beach is across the road and all the best restaurants are close by. I would definitely stay here again.

The staff at the Pacific Beach hotel was charming, kind and very helpful. I would stay here again. it is an older hotel with character, very clean, comfortable with amazing views and direct access to the ocean.

We stayed for a night for my birthday...as a local, we just booked through Groupon, which was a good deal, and didn't really check amenities (although I know they had wifi and a pool and work out center and all if we wanted). The staff was very efficient and polite and the room was clean. They even give extra water bottles to take around and keep for those visiting and exploring, and toothbrushes with the little travel items (which I thought was cool because I imagine that is one of the most forgotten travel items). The aquarium in the middle is pretty darned cool as well. Continental breaky goes until noon which is awesome, and you go to a little cafe and get actual fresh whole fruit, coffee or tea, juice and a pastry of your choice (and it was yummy). It isn't fancy and it isn't over the top, and it isn't RIGHT on the beach (although a CLOSE jaunt), but it is a place I would stay again for sure!

Right across the street from Waikiki Beach, the location is perfect, rooms are nice enough and the price is a good value. Big hotel but not fancy. Ocean view rooms not that much more $ - well worth it! A very pleasant stay; glad we didn't stay elsewhere for more. Location, location!

Room Tip: 37 floors - we were on the 37th. Great view! May seem too high up for some. We loved it - facing Dia...

We had real problems booking in as part of the conference I attended but once I discovered the lovely Peter H Guest services manager it all went smoothly

Very friendly staff - some of the rooms are a little tired but all in all they are good. If you book a partial view of the beach you will get it. Our balcony was on the side but had great views of the water up to Diamond Head. Was great to sit out there on the balmy nights with a drink or two.

Our toilet blocked up at midnight - gross! but the maintenance man was up in ten minutes and sorted it.

Calls were screened which was good.

The huge aquarium in the middle of the hotel is fantastic - look out for the scuba divers and the mermaid! Lots of fish and even stingrays.s

Don't bother with the US$46 buffet though - its not worth it. Food wad pretty ordinary. Plenty if cheaper and better around. The waiting staff down there were good but the front of house that were on when we were there very really rude! we were ignored for 10 minutes (along with another couple) persevered as we had a fiend at the bar waiting for us. She had earlier 'copped a serve' when the maitre'd asked the people behind her if she'd pushed in front of them!

The water in the room is awful but there are water stations on several floors and you get drink bottles. I also took a while to work out the kettle! If you hate creamer like we do, just go down to the ABC store on the ground floor and buy milk. They also have sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt, salads etc There is an ABC store on every corner (really) around waikiki and they are all just slightly different so you can shop around for food.

The Aloha Cafe does great smoothies and even the cappuccinos are not too bad :-) just dont get the older grumpy lady if you are in a hurry as she is very slow.

A towel is provided for the beach.

If you are an Aussie don't forget to tip your maid and anyone else who helps you. It's worth it.

Waikiki had a power blackout while we were there. Luckily we were not caught in the lifts as a few were - the hotel staff were great with getting people out as quickly as they could and very apologetic for something beyond their control.

The concierge organised a coupe of tours for us- yes you can get cheaper if you shop around but they were convenient and efficient. We were disappointed though that after convincing us to not do two tours in a row we missed out on punchbowl as it was closed for Memorial Day.

Happy to stay again!

Room Tip: Ask for a partial sea view - it's worth it!

In a nutshell my stay at the Pacific Beach Hotel was an awesome experience. The hotel is right along the beach and shopping amenities. Hotel personnel were very friendly and accommodating. The valet and transportation assistance was very helpful. The best part of our stay was the huge aquarium and supper buffet. I love seafood! The best part of the day was to return to Aloha Café, relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee. I would highly recommend and give good reviews on the Pacific Beach Hotel.
