“Great hotel”

Not the Hyatt, but a great find for the location and price. Decor is 1960s style but in working condition. Rooms are clean. They have A/C but you really don't need it with the Hawaiian breeze. Staff was very nice. They have towels, balls, etc at the front desk. Book early, this place fills up fast due to the low prices. I would rather stay here than the Ritz Carlton.

We are a middle aged couple, quite well traveled, and we normally chose budget hotels.
Priority number one is cleanliness and my wife always checks for ants and bugs.
Waikiki Prince is a well cleaned place.

We stayed here for a couple of nights starting off our Oahu trip. And we voluntarily returned at the end of the trip too. We stayed in two different rooms. We had a small stove, a fridge and a toaster, which made it easy to make simple breakfasts.

The location is perfect for your Waikiki experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
You can borrow beach towels and a few beach chairs in the reception.
The rooms are small, not very fancy, but very clean and sufficient for budget travelers.

As other people have stated it´s a noisy area, and you definitely need ear plugs to sleep well.
But as we normally stay at cheaper hotels we are used to that.
This is not the Royal Hawaiian.

There is a japanese restaurant across the street, with guests talking, but it closes around 10-11 PM. And there is a car and motor bike rental on the lot next to the hotel, which is noisy during day time, but it´s also closed at night. And there is the ventilation from a bigger hotel close by, a bit noisy all night.
BUT, we slept well using the ear plugs. No problemo.

We would definitely stay here again if we want a good priced central place in Waikiki.

If you want to use the hotel to sleep, shower and fix yourself your own quick meals (toast, cereal w/ milk, heat-and-eat meals), and if you don't mind the place looking dated and a little shabby but clean, then this is an excellent budget option. We stayed a weekend in Feb '12. Ashley the resident manager is very helpful and friendly.
As for the street noise, bring soft earplugs -- they will kill any muffled sounds that do get to your room. We were right on top of the motorcycle and car rental place and didn't have noise issues. We used the microwave & 'fridge. TV had the standard channels. Plenty of value meals within 10 min walk at Blazin Steak and on Kuhio Ave (Pho, Food Mart, ...) Room is serviced weekly but you can request replacement towels. They even have a washer/dryer for longer stays.
Use the rest of your $ to enjoy the beach activities and tourist destinations.

Room Tip: A few rooms have a balcony with an peek-a-boo ocean view. Ask Ashley.

This is an excellent place for a very inexpensive price. Our room was on the top floor, We never slept in always walked to one of the inexpensive restaurants within one block. We were one block from the ocean with beautiful sand beaches and nice sailboat ride. The girl downstairs was always helpful. Although it has the potential to be noisy it really wasn't. It is an older place. Nice little balcony. The room has air conditioning which works well and quietly. My wife and I really enjoyed this place.

Room Tip: We were on the top floor which meant we walked up one from the elevators last stop. We would book h...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 8 days in January 2012 and it was great! Awesome location, you are 3 minutes from the beach and right in the middle of Waikiki near the Duke statue. The rooms were a bit dated, but clean. We had a couple of bugs in our room but the balcony door was left open a lot so that probably had something to do with it! With some simple updates (new bedding and pillows mainly) we would have no complaints. We had a kitchenette in our room and saved a ton by buying snacks at the food land in the ala moana shopping center (go there if you can - much cheaper than IN waikiki) we had a place to make coffee, bagels, and had a rice maker - though we didn't touch it. The mini fridge was perfect, great to keep some extra beers and drinks! Seriously, if you need a place to sleep, keep your belongings, and shower this is it! I never felt unsafe and Ashley at the front desk is super nice! She called a shuttle for us the night of the pro bowl pre-party to the airport which was very helpful!

Room Tip: I would guess rooms on the 6th floor have a better "view" but I could just walk 3 minutes...

Other than that, everything still great. Cheap and close to the beach. Have already made reservations for next yr

For the price you can't beat it in Waikiki. It's not a super luxurious place, but it's a place to rest your head at the end of a busy day. I wouldn't say it was "spotless" but for an older place it's not bad. I wanted to spend money on experiences this trip rather than an expensive hotel. It's within walking distance of most everything, and with the air conditioning on surprisingly quite with all the hustle and bustle going on around. The "Kitchenette" is a full small kitchen with stove, sink, refrigerator, and microwave. The staff was very nice and helpful. Jinroku the japanese resteraunt across the street is awesome! I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you are on the 6th floor you will have a flight of stairs to climb as the elevator only goes to t...
