“lovely, relaxing place”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

We rented a cabin for the weekend as did two other friends with their families. Everyone working at the cottages was exceptionally friendly and concerned that we were happy.

The lake itself was gorgeous and we spent most of the day hanging out by it, the pool, or kayaking or paddleboating. We saw the resident eagles many times, flying over the lake.

The cottages were a good size for the weekend and would have been fine even for a week. With a full size refrigerator, tv, and separate bedrooms, we were very comfortable. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

We had a fantastic time and hope to come back again soon.

Room Tip: cottages closest to the lake are also furthest from the road.

We've spent a week at Pine Grove for the past two summers. We get together there with my two daughters. their husbands and their children and have a fabulous time--- in the lake, in the pool, cooking out, going to the water park right across the road, and exploring the area. The owners are amazing--friendly, competent, generous.

My husband and I just spent the night in a new accommodation that the owners, Donna and bill, have created in a structure that was once a hotel right next to the cottages. Donna and Bill have gutted the original building and have made a space that respects the buildings "good bones" but is modern, light and airy. This is a perfect retreat for anyone who wants to spend a night or longer during the winter when the cottages are closed or wants something a bit more luxe during the summer.

This was our first time at Pine Grove but it won't be our last. The owners are such nice, down to earth folks and went above and beyond our expectations to ensure everything was satisfactory. We booked a long white water rafting weekend in the area but low water levels could have put a damper on our weekend had it not been for the fun we had at Pine Grove. EVERYTHING was above sat and OUTSTANDING! The cottages were booked so we rented a GORGEOUS brand new condo over the two B&Bs. We had a full kitchen, amazingly rustic furniture that I'm going to buy, 3 private BRs, a HUGE living room and a dining room. Their rates cannot be beat! Everyone at the property was nice, respectful, and friendly. I highly recommend this five star family fun filled property and look forward to visiting again real soon. ps - don't miss three wishes and Landers River Rafts when in the area. Also Erie Hotel Tiki Bar in Port Jervis approx 40 mins away.

Room Tip: The cottages are adorable but book quickly! The brand new condo over the B&Bs was immaculate and...

This is the second summer my boyfriend and I have returned and we will be returning next summer as well! Cottages are adorable and perfect for us, the second bedroom we use for luggage and the little living room has a futon and a small tv with basic cable. Perfect for watching a movie (bring your own DVD player or cables for hooking up from a laptop which is what we do) on a rainy afternoon. We brought our own kayaks so we have use of them when ever we wish, as we had better luck catching Bass last year, we mostly caught Sunnys this summer. Its never about the fish tho, but time on the lake. Wildlife is amazing, beavers, eagles, hawks, blue herons, ducks... a whole family of ducks.. adorably playing together on the lake. Bring your binoculars if you have them, there is lots to see. Other guests are friendly and respectful, we got a few fishing tips from a few folks and we were welcomed by our neighbors. We arrived late and as they had left over bbq chicken they brought some over so we wouldn't have figure out dinner while we unpacked. This is a great place for family and friends its also a quite little get away for couples as well. The owners treated us like family from the moment we arrived and I absolutely love the atmosphere. We will be back next summer!

Room Tip: I love the little cottages, tho I have never stayed in the motel side, it does overlook the pool if...

This was our first time renting a cottage at pine grove cottages and I have to say it was a very enjoyable experience. The owners are super nice and will give you what ever they can to make your stay even more enjoyable. The cottages are small, cute and perfect for our quiet, relaxing, fun vacation. The other guests of pine grove were very friendly and our daughter made some new friends. I would recommend this establishment and can't wait til the next time we rent a cottage at Pine grove cottages.

Love Love Love this place! The owners are GREAT and super friendly! They treat you like family from the warm welcome you get (hugs) to tending to any requests you may have. The units\cottages are clean, which is hard to find nowadays at any vacation rental establishment. The property has all the amenities you need: pool, firepit, lake with canoes, paddle boats, kayaks. Town is less than a 10 minute drive away (has a Walmart, Pizza Hut, Kmart, grocery store, movie theatre etc.) My family has come here 2 consecutive years now with no disappointments!

Beach Lake is a quiet village with a convenience store, a diner, a couple of restaurants, and a small water park. All are a short walk from Pine Grove Cottages. The Delaware River, Lake Wallenpaupack, and many scenic and historic sites are nearby.

These cottages are so small and basic that I would call them cabins. They are spotlessly clean and lovingly maintained and adorably cute. The kitchen is tiny. There’s no room for a microwave, but ours was otherwise very well-equipped, although the water tastes like iron. The two bedrooms and the living room are just large enough for the necessary furniture. The bathroom has a shower but no tub.

Four motel-style units have bathtubs and better-tasting water, but they don’t have as much personality.

Each rental unit has its own charcoal grill and picnic table, as well as a small front porch. We made good use of this outdoor space, using the indoors for sleeping, cooking, and getting under a roof and into air conditioning when the weather was wet or hot.

This place has the best little sand beach in the Poconos. There’s a large roped swimming area on the lake, and there’s also a large pool. A basket of sand toys for toddlers makes family time on the beach easy, as does the mix of sun and shade at the water’s edge and on the adjacent lawn. Benches, tables and chairs provide seating for reading, using the owners' wi-fi or just looking at the beautiful view.

Also on the lakefront, you’ll find a good supply of kayaks, rowboats and paddleboats. Fishing from the dock is permitted, or you can take your tackle out in a boat. Since the lake is about a mile long and half a mile wide, there’s plenty of room to explore.

There’s also a bocce court, a covered pavilion with picnic tables, ping pong and air hockey, and a firepit. The rental fee includes use of all facilities, including the boats. Unlike some places I’ve visited, there are no long lists of rules—guests are asked to obey state boating and fishing regulations, and to participate in the recycling program, but courtesy and common sense provide most of the guidance.

Coin-operated washers and dryers are hidden from locals in an outbuilding; ask about them. Ask for anything you need, or for information about the area. The owners are very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. So are other guests, many of whom have been returning for years. I will, too.
