We are comparing Vicksburg casinos to Laughlin, Nevada casinos. We have been to 8 different casinos in Laughlin. We have been to 2 casinos in Vicksburg (Ameristar and Isle of Capri). The service, prices, comps, machines and games in no way compare in our opinion to the Laughlin casinos. We saw no winners in the 2 days we were in Vicksburg. In 12 years of going to Laughlin, we have never paid for a room or meal and there has never been 2 days that we didn't win at least a $500 to $1,000 jackpot. Most of the gaming tables were not open the two days we were there. Meals are too high priced, not comped at a reasonable rate. The first night we arrived at Ameristar, we were told by the attendant that we had 15 minutes before they were closing the buffet. We went to the snack bar downstairs, but there is no where to sit down to eat. The hotel is nice but there are no restaurants close by except for the casino. We wanted a casino and hotel combined, the web site for the Ameristar is misleading. It says hotel casino and I could not find a picture of the outside that showed them seperately. One website acutally said casino inside hotel. We would not go back or recommend the Vicksburg casinos.
