“Fascinating for all ages! ”

This museum is incredibly informative and interesting. We really enjoyed learning more about the river and using all the hands on activities...even my 4 year old! Also, touring the Corps boat was really neat!! Don't miss this attraction!!

“Interactive screens”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

We visited this free museum on June 14th. There is free parking at the back of the museum. The first part is about the live and work on and around the river. There are some screens were you can interact with. For the children there is a place were they can make their own river and see how the water finds his way out of the sand.

“Stop in, you will be glad you did”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

While on business, I meandered throughout the state of MS and decided Vicksburg was to be a stopping point. The LMRM and Interpretive Center, although it is expanding is a self-guided, hands on museum. The education one receives about the Mississippi River is totally worth the experience. Then embarking on the USS Mississippi IV, a retired ACOE vessel allows one to realize all that our engineers endured to make our waterways safe and our land secure. Great place for kids and families. Outside on the boardwalk is a giant map of the Mississippi Watershed together with a river-walk mural sequence. Take it all in.
Free entrance; donations encouraged.

This is an excellent Centre explaining the whole actions and history of the lower Mississippi.
Interactive exhibits, film show and lots of images.
Children (and adults) would love this.

“My family loved this museum”

The children love the hand-on activities like the sand/water table and the tour of the boat. Great way to learn about the Mighty Mississippi!
