“Great Mother's Day Brunch!”
Reviewed 20 May 2010

My wife and I have cruised and eaten at some great resturants in our 37 years together. On Mother's Day, we we opted to have brunch at the Marc in Walla Walla. WOW! I'm going to be honest and say it was not the best we have ever had, but it was certainly equal to the best. The dining room and serving area were beautifully arranged and decorated with ice sculptures and flowers. The food was a fantastic selection from breakfast through dinner with an array that varied from eggs anyway, all the breakfast meats & varieties of potatoes, pastries with clotted cream, fresh fruit of every kind, succulent prime rib & ham..............but wait, there is more!
The seafood selection was outstanding. Fresh salmon and some of the best oysters I have ever had in my life.
The dessert array was killer. The Marc has a pasty duo that will put winter insulation on you in a heartbeat! From chocolate mousse to stawberry shortcake and everything in between in serving sizes that you can taste it all.
The real pleasure was the service, from the Hotel Manager that cordially greeted and checked on everyone to the wait staff that anticipated your every wish.
In a town the size of Walla Walla, the Marcus Whitman is a prize. I would put it up against the major hotels in any city!
My wife hopes for a repeat on Father's Day.

We go to Walla Walla every spring and fall and love staying at the Marcus Whitman Hotel. It's a beautiful hotel, dog friendly, has a great staff and great rates! You can beat the delicious buffet breakfast that's included with your stay and we really enjoy spending time at the bar - Matt, the bar manager, will take great care of you with his specialty cocktails and fabulous food. We especially like their fresh juices (mixed into cocktails), flat breads and sushi! And most importantly after a great night's sleep, the Marc is the perfect starting place for a day of wine tasting or walking to the tasting rooms in town. Love it and we'll continue to stay there twice a year!

I recently took my first trip to Walla Walla with a group of friends, my 1 yr old son, and even my dog. The hotel was great and very accomodating. We stayed in the newer West Wing which overlooked the parkinglot, which worked out just fine as there was no road noise and made it easier for our son to fall asleep. They had everything we needed in the room, including a mini fridge (to keep our newly purchased/opened bottle of white wine cool) and a coffee maker (to help get back on the road the morning after a great day of wine tasting!).

We also loved hanging out at the bar downstairs. Matt, the bartender, was very friendly and kept the intimate group of people at the bar happy and comfortable. There was even a room behind the bar with couches that we were able to lounge on and get served at the same time - a wonderful way to recap the days events with all of our friends!

Overall, we had a fantastic time and look forward to making the trip again soon!

We love staying at the Marcus Whitman on our twice yearly trips to Walla Walla. Great location within walking distance of many great restaurants and winery tasting rooms downtown. The hotel features a great bar and restaurant, The Marc, which is definitely the Class of Walla Walla. Our bartender, Matt, was quick to recommend innovative cocktails which were a refreshing change of pace from a day of wine tasting. He also made some great winery recommendations just outside of town. The food at The Marc is also good-- I recommend the duck flatbread and the burger is also a great choice!

The Walt Whitman Hotel in Walla Walla is one of those places that shows the comfort and class of the 1920's fine Hotels. It's public rooms are decorated with antiques from that era. It's service measures up with friendly, capable attendants. The rooms in the old part of the Hotel are classic as well, with great robes, duvets, towels etc, which made us feel as though we were in a one of the special country house hotels in the UK.

My wife and I spend the weekend at The Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center to celebrate our 32nd Anniversary. The check-in was quick and efficient (reservation was made in advance), and the staff very friendly! We opted for the historic 7th floor, and a two room luxury suite. The living room was large, and furniture very comfortable...and what a view of the Blue Mountains & downtown...breathtaking! The bedroom was much larger than I had expected, and the bed was a delight...and linens soft and comfortable. The bathroom had a spacious walk-in shower, along with a separate bathtub & period style pedestal sink...all in very good repair. What a wonderful experience! We'll be back!

We came to Walla Walla to visit our son in College. At the check in, the new face, Jenny, made us feel welcome and after finding out that we stayed here before and will again, she upgraded our room. This hotel has charm as no other, well trained staff, very good restaurant and manages to make you feel at home every time. I travel on business a lot, but have not seen this quality in business hotels that I stay a lot more often. A gem.. A great stay again.... Excellent free hot breakfast.
Highly recommended!!!
