My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Walla Walla in March of this year and we stayed at this beautiful property. We were warmly greeted by Mary, provided a lovely glass of cab at check in, provided an overview of the grounds and our room (the Bunkhouse) and given great suggestions for dinner and wineries to visit. We had such a wonderful weekend at Abeja! We were their first guests of the season and had the whole place to ourselves the first day. Our first evening was so quiet and peaceful. The Bunkhouse was quite comfortable, despite the cool Walla Walla weather. We slept wonderfully each and every night. The breakfasts provided to guests are AMAZING - Mary is quite the chef (although she is very humble about it). We had country eggs benedict the first morning, baked huevos rancheros the second and lemon souffle pancakes the third. Each breakfast was better than the last (and they were all fantastic, so that is saying a lot). Plus we had homemade scones or coffee cake, great coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. The grounds are so lush. We took a walk down by the creek each morning (sometimes further out) and just marveled at how quiet and beautiful the countryside was. It really set the tone for each day. I would love to go back to Abeja and hope that we have the opportunity to do so.

Room Tip: Each room is unique and comfortable! We loved the Bunkhouse as it was a little separated from the other rooms and therefore was even more peaceful.

We are always excited when the first guests of the season arrive. And what a wonderful surprise from your husband! I was surprised this morning when I spotted the first hummingbird of Spring visiting the feeder outside the Bunk House. I am sure many more will follow.

My husband and I stayed in one of the cottages here a few years ago and absolutely LOVED this place. We are originally from the Walla Walla area, and it was really fun to experience it as a visitor. A basket full of breakfast items was delivered each morning we were there. The cottage had an antique feel to it, yet had a very modern kitchen and electronics. This Inn is located out of the main part of town in the beautiful rolling hills by Mill Creek. I loved our experience here and would definitely love to go again.

My husband and I stayed at Abeja with another couple recently. We stayed in the Carriage House, which has 2 full bedrooms with bathrooms and a nice living/dining/kitchen area. We had an amazing time! The grounds are impeccable and beautiful restored. The breakfast every morning is amazing. The service is wonderful. The wine tasting is some of the best in Walla Walla. I'd definitely go back to Abeja again.

We've been to Abeja twice now (two years in a row). Part of me is reluctant to effuse over the place because it's truly a gem that I don't want too many people to know about or spoil, but they are so deserving of the praise bestowed upon them that you really only want them to succeed, and then some.

Abeja is our sanctuary. It's serene and idyllic. No detail has been overlooked. The craftsmanship of the facilities is outstanding. And as every independent inn or B&B should be, each room is unique with it's own special touches. Think of the finest hotels in the world you've ever stayed in, and Abeja can compete with the best of them for quality, but with none of the pretense. Think outside the box -- want to enjoy their surroundings and not head into town for dinner? Ask for your own grill, buy some great groceries in any of the fine food establishments, and DIY your meal. Looking for a cool place to hang out and a mixologist in the middle of wheat fields? Mary the innkeeper sent us to the Jim German bar in Waitsburg, 20 minutes away. You'd be surprised at this place's existence let alone the excellence of its drinks. And so on, and so on.

Don't just stay in Abeja for its wines -- which are superb -- stay at Abeja because you really want to feel like you're away from it all. You will NOT be disappointed!
