Just on the edge of town. This is a great area to picnic and hike. There is an off-leash dog park area too. There is a small lake (reservoir) with a boat launch, but often it is quite low.

This is a great spot where you can feel like you are out in nature, but its only 5 mins from town! There is a new playground, shelter, bbq pits, fire pits, volleyball court, and great trails. There are paved trails, and gravel trails. Dogs must be on a leash, but they can be off leash on the gravel road side of Mill Creek, right outside of Rooks Park. This is one of my favorite places.

Not far from Walla Walla is Rooks Park. Large shade trees. Nice grassy area for kids to play. Small playground. A small brook wanders through and invites kids to get wet on a hot day.
The Gate closes at dusk, and the closing time is posted. We were not done with our B-day party, so we moved all the cars outside the gate and finished cooking the s'mores.
Thank goodness for a few strollers to haul all our crap out to the the cars when the sun disappeared. There is no lighting, so be prepared if you stay late.

Quiet, nice little park with a wide path to walk on along the Mill Creek, and a another trail that takes you to the top of a hill with a nice view of Bennington lake.
