“A little greasy”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

The food you order at a register and they serve it to your table. For the price, I would expect service. The egg dishes are greasy unless you get poached. I would share because portions are too big for one. The coffee is not good quality.

“Yummy and fast”

This is a great bistro downtown, really good food and fast too. For lunch we had a BLT on ciabatta and a turkey club, and delish salad, good beer selection.

“overpriced microwaved entrees”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

Ate here twice during a recent visit to Walla Walla. First time had the curry and rice dish. Came lukewarm, hadn't been microwaved long enough. After more heating it was decent, but the meat suffered from the microwave. An OK meal, but not a good buy for $17 in a self serve, bus your own table place.

Second night had the adobo beef enchilada. Microwaved again. No sauce. Five layers of tortilla and tiny pieces of meat. The tortillas and meat were chewy and tough and the cheese rubbery from the microwave. Worst enchilada I have ever had. $15 for dreck. Ugh.

The order taker was pleasant the first night and the person the second night apparently wished she was somewhere else.

The wine selection is decent. The pizza and pastries looked great, and are probably the thing to buy at Olive. But I am unfortunately gluten free. And there was no concession to GF at all there. So So unfortunately I won't be back for more microwave specials.

“Right in downtown with outside seating”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

They have a nice little outdoor area where you can sit and watch the people walking around downtown Walla Walla. Once you enter you walk over to the ordering counter for a nice selection of coffee, fresh soups, (Cream of cauliflower or Asparagus) sandwiches and flatbread pizza's. They also offer cheese plates, beer &wine! The floor of the building is original and shows a lot of character. They also offer a sofa seating area! They have second floor seating as well if its cold outside! Food is very good! Had the pulled pork sandwich..Pizza's looked good and so did the charcuterie. Nice place for a relaxing afternoon!

“Good food, upstairs seating not for everyone”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

We stopped by Olive for a simple dinner for our family get-together. They offer a good selection of deli-style sandwiches and pizzas.

You order at the counter then take a small numbered sign to your table. Ordering was quick and easy. I have to admit to getting sticker shock when I heard how much our three items (curry chicken, turkey club sandwich, pizza) came out to. The clerk was sort of dead-pan and didn't seem interested in being pleasant. I heard that the staff was pretty slammed; being the end of the school year, many of their student employees had quit.

The only table large enough for our group was upstairs in the loft, which was rather warm. An oscillating floor fan made it bearable, but the A/C was no match for the heat in the upstairs area. Downstairs was comfortable. Also note: the loft is accessed via two steep stairwells, and there is no elevator available. This was an issue for the elderly folks in our group.

Food was good and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. The curry chicken is a real winner. The asparagus/bacon pizza was also good, with a good seasoned crust.

Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for good food especially with good friends.
