Very good food... very good service... very good atmosphere in a beautiful building, but only an acceptable value. Enjoyed the meal thoroughly, but at the price point there may be equal or better options.

We loved the atmosphere, service and the incredible food here. We wanted to order second entrees because all of the food looked so good - lobster pasta, salmon, tenderloin and lamb. We would recommend sitting at the bar overlooking the kitchen. It was quite fascinating!

The service was only so so...one appetizer was not as requested, bread forgotten and 2 of the 5 main courses were not up to the price or standard of this restaurant. The other 3 meals were very good ='s inconsistent.

One appetizer was requested without the trout...it came later than the others and with the trout. Waiter ask if we wanted more bread when we had not rec'd any. The pasta with lobster was not finished by either of our quests...didn't taste good. Lamb and Steak were great. It was not a busy night so the inconsistency confused us. This was our 2nd time at the restaurant.

This was the first real upscale restaurant at the beginning of WW's wine boom. It has gone downhill since then. The décor still is great, but the music is way too loud and too beat-filled for the space. There's just not a classy feel. Then, our waiter couldn't get the wine bottle open and ended up spilling wine on the tablecloth. No apology. Our entrees came while we still were working on the appetizers. The food was fine - nothing great.

We had an enjoyable evening, but the service and general ambiance are not up to par.

The four of us were so looking forwards to our dinner at W-C Saturday evening. We had dined at Saffron on Friday and loved it! Unpretentious and a foodies dream. Lots of great choices and sharing the dishes made the experience all the better.

When we walked over from the Marcus Whitman we were anticipating a great meal and the vibe of the building intensified that anticipation. Unfortunately we were seated next to a couple of large groups in the back room - one that is specifically reserved for large groups - and is cut off from the main dining area. That was strike number one.

The Waiter was nice but very stiff and quiet. that was strike number two.

Alas the best food of the night was the onion rings for $6.00. All six of us had the steaks for $38.00. and none of the 4 of us liked it. It had a strange unpleasant taste and the texture was odd - somewhat mealy. It was a chore trying to finish it. I purchased one of the desserts - the walnut pastry with pear. I only ate a few bites because the pear was severely underripe and the pastry bland. All of this led to the third strike of the evening and three strikes is all you get.

The worst part was that we all felt that we had lead (steak) weights in our stomachs afterwards. None of us would go back for dinner there except at the bar for some of the appetizers or a burger. It's too bad because we loved the building and were so looking forwards to a nice meal.
