My husband and I enjoyed Rich and Cynthia's hospitality for a few days this summer. They are the type of hosts that we enjoy, warm, knowledgable but not at all intrusive. The breakfasts, location and room couldn't have been better.

Cynthia and Rich do a fine job of providing you with all the cozy comforts of home, genuine hospitality and they do so with grace and unobtrusiveness. Not only is Rich a world class chef, his passion for food and wine is immense, and he imparts his knowledge of the local wineries generously and shares with all his guests. Cynthia is always happy to help with any requests.
The Inn is clean and comfortable. My only complaint about this cozy home is that we ran out of time. The special Wine Pairing Dinner was delectable and if you have the chance, don't miss one of Rich Koby's events. Maria and Don C. Carlsbad, CA

This was our second stay at the Fat Duck Inn. This second stay was as good as, perhaps even better, than our first stay. The Inn is clean, the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The Inn is also just a short three block walk from downtown. The food, prepared by Chef Rich is excellent. The breakfasts were very good with a different frittata prepared each day. We also participated in the Wine Dinner expertly prepared by Chef Rich, with excellent wine pairings for each course. The Inn is warm and inviting and Cynthia makes you feel right at home. Rich is an excellent source of where to go in Walla Walla, not just for the food, but for the best wines. None of his recommendations steered us wrong, although our pocketbook is whining a little :-) You really cannot find a better place to stay in Walla Walla.

Room Tip: The Pintail Suite on the main floor is quiet, spacious, and very comfortable.

If you enjoy getting to know about wine and fine food, this is the place for you. Cynthia and Rich have created a truly warm and friendly atmosphere--you really do feel at home. They are extremely knowledgeable about Walla Walla and specifically the wineries and restaurants. The breakfasts were fantastic with locally roasted coffee. We definitely would recommend this place and will return on our next visit to the Walla Walla wine country.

We found the Fat Duck Inn online when we discovered the Marcus Whitman Hotel was full during our planned vacation. What lucky ducks we were! Our room was very comfortable, and the home is well located in a lovely area of Walla Walla. Innkeepers Rich and Cynthia Koby are delightful — friendly and helpful when you need them, in the background when you'd prefer privacy. Rich is also a talented professional chef, and we arrived on an evening when he was serving a five-course dinner. Rich draws on a wide variety of local and organic ingredients. The food was tasty and well-presented — the most expensive meal of our vacation, but worth it. This was our first trip to Walla Walla. We enjoyed bicycling, the local eateries (we loved Olive) and some beautiful walks, especially the tour of historic homes. We ran out of time before we ran out of interesting things to do. We’ll definitely be back, and we’ll return to the Fat Duck!

I hate to even tell you about this place, as then it will be full when I want to stay here, but everyone going to Walla Walla should stay at the Fat Duck. We have found our new home away from home at the Fat Duck. We found the hosts to be warm and loving. I would even say they are our friends now. The rooms, are just beautiful, clean, well stocked, lux sheets, towels, and toiletries. The breakfast is gourmet, made by Rich, a trained Chef. They helped us go to the wineries, and recommended restaurants. Even provided comfort when we dropped our son at Whitman College as a Freshman.

Room Tip: The Pintail is especially lovely.

Great B&B! We stayed in the absolutely spotless Pintail suite which is huge, has a very comfortable king bed and is on the main floor. I have difficulty with stairs so having a room on the main floor was a must for me. It was very quiet and yet convenient to the main living area and kitchen. The decor is first class and tasteful.
Rich and Cynthia are the perfect hosts, professional and friendly at the same time. Breakfasts were wonderful as was the coffee.
We have never been to Walla Walla and they were both very helpful in answering our questions about the area.
We have stayed in many B&B's and this is now our favorite one!
