It started with friendly and accommodating front desk staff and continued with clean, nicely decorated room, comfortable bed, fine breakfast, enjoyable patio and wine bar and courteous employees at all levels. We would definably return. The price is reasonable as well.

We have stayed many times at various Choice Hotels properties all over the country, but our stay at the Walla Walla Comfort Inn was less than satisfactory. The front-line staff was fine, but a totally unaccommodating manager made it certain that we will never stay here again in future trips to Walla Walla.
My wife and I, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter were in town for the young lady's graduation from nursing school and I had booked a 2-bedroom suite last November for the weekend. The description on our confirmation papers was 2 bedrooms and living room. Upon entering our "suite" we found that there were only 2 beds and that the expected sofa (with pull-out bed) was not in our assigned room. The room had a king bed in the "living" room -- no sofa or even room for a cot (which they said they could not provide) and a small bedroom with no closet for hanging clothes. Obviously, there was no place for our granddaughter to sleep.
I went back to the desk to get this corrected as this room was nothing like described when I had booked it online and clearly not meant for 5 adults (as noted on our reservation).
I was told that they could not move us as the rooms with 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed had been booked by people who had called the hotel directly, rather than booking online. They called the manager who not only refused to move us to the type of room we had booked, but said a rate adjustment was impossible, despite the fact we did not receive the type of room we had paid for. The attitude seemed to tell me that online bookers are second-class customers and even though I had booked 8 months in advance, that counted for nothing. To make matters worse, the parties in the other rooms were fewer people and had not yet arrived. Still the manager refused to allow her staff to switch us with those who were still to check in -- and the front desk clerks would not let me speak directly with the manager. Totally frustrating. We were offered an additional room -- at full price -- for ONE night. Finding other lodging was not an option as graduation activities had brought in additional hundreds of family members and friends for the weekend, so we were stuck.
Granddaughter had to bunk down with her parents in the king bed -- no one said they slept very well and the lack of a real living room area made it crowded during our time in the room. Thankfully, we were out in town much of the time.
As for good things, the complimentary breakfast was OK. Biscuits and gravy were good, and the scrambled eggs also decent. Nothing great, but what you might expect for no extra charge. And the location was great for our purposes -- about 2 miles to downtown and the fine dining choices there, and about the same distance to Walla Walla U. Getting to and from graduation functions was very fast -- usually about 5 minutes or so.
My recommendation -- the manager needs a serious refresher course in customer service. After countless good experiences with the Choice Hotels brand, this was definitely a "bad apple" in their barrel.

We stayed here on Friday and Saturday night. We were traveling with my cousin and his wife. This is the second time we have all stayed here together, and we would come back again and again. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Our favorite feature is the patio out back with a fire pit in the corner. After a long day of wine tasting, it is a lot of fun to go out back on the patio and sip wine and relax. The complementary breakfast is satisfying, and the staff was very friendly and very helpful and very eager to please.

We arrived in Walla Walla on our Can-Am Spyder to take in the Hot Air Balloon Stampede. It was our first road trip on our three-wheeled motorcycle and we were debating where to park it for the three days. The manager let us know there was a security camera just outside her office window, and suggested we park right there on the sidewalk! My husband was delighted to leave his new toy in such a special shady spot, and felt the manager really understood his security needs. Another highlight of our stay was the jug of refreshing water with orange slices in it at the front desk. It seems like a simple thing but it was such a reviving treat in the very warm weather. The included breakfast was wonderful, the dining room large and clean. The staff arrived extra early each morning that weekend to prepare the breakfast in order to accommodate the pilots, crew and spectators needing to get to the hot air balloon launch field at or before daybreak. All this AND a very comfortable room! The staff definitely lived up to this hotel's name in our opinion!

We've stayed at this hotel previously and like the convenient location. This time around we had extraordinary service from the front desk (I wish I could recall her name). Because it was a big wine weekend I knew they would be booked and that people would be coming in with their wine purchases, us being one of them. We were not looking forward to lugging our wine cases to the room and back down again at departure but this gal offered us the option to hold our wines in their wine room as a convenience. It was wonderful knowing it was stored in a temperature controlled room and they have a system to account for the wine you leave and issue a ticket to pick it up at departure. What a great service!!
As for the room, it was spacious, clean and comfortable. We don't spend a lot of time in the room but its still nice to know you can go back to your room in between and take a quick nap if needed. It is a little on the pricier side considering you're in Walla Walla not Seattle but it's because of the demand for rooms on a busy weekend so its a consideration you have to factor in. Other off season weekend may not be so bad. Overall we'd definitely stay here again!

We did not make a reservation and had just walked in to see if they had a room. They treated us very well and we got a nice room with a good rate. The overall look of the hotel was very good, as the place looked fresh and clean. The room was very clean and the beds had enough pillows that were soft and fluffy. I need to have a good pillow and these were great. The beds were comfortable and we both got a good nights sleep.
They have a complementary breakfast. The usual fare for a hotel free breakfast. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, waffles you can make and cereal. They didn’t have any sausage or bacon just a sausage gravy for the biscuits. The meal was ok and the coffee was good.
We would stay there again.

Our stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites was for only one night, but was most enjoyable. We stayed upstairs on the third floor in a two-room suite. This was on a Sunday night and the rate was not much more than an average room at other motels. The room consisted of a bathroom, a large room with a king bed, flat screen TV, microwave oven, refrigerator, coffeepot and desk with chair. The attached living room had another flat screen TV, sofa, coffee table and another desk and chair, which we used for our laptop. Even on third floor wireless internet worked fine and they have more than one channel of HBO. The location, which is on the outskirts of town suited us, but be aware that it is not "downtown" Walla Walla. The free breakfast was ample with a nice variety - with coffee good and hot. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: if you are planning to sleep late, the north side of the motel would probably stay darker longer in...
