“Charming”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

We had a relaxing weekend in Walla Walla and our stay at the Green Gables Inn certainly contributed to that. Our room was comfortable and the bed was huge. There may be one too many doilies in the room and our bathroom was somewhat outdated (and we ran out of hot water for the shower on one of the mornings) but that is in keeping with the style of the hotel. The location is a little outside of town but we didn't have any trouble walking to and from the shops and restaurants on Main Street.

The breakfasts served on the porch were the highlight for me - a nice choice of tasty savory dishes and fruit, and I'm still thinking about the wonderful scones! I could easily eat those delectable freshly baked goods all day long.

All in all we might choose to stay in the center of town for our next trip, but I would certainly recommend the Green Gables Inn to anyone looking for a charming experience in Walla Walla.

First time visit to Walla Walla and the Green Gables Inn was a great place to stay. We were there for wine tasting and were pleased with the parking. Just a short drive to town with plenty of free parking there. We were in the Dryad suite and it was the best shower I have ever had in a hotel or B and B. Great towels and linens. Nice beverage center with free water and sodas. Breakfasts were outstanding and Alexis was very accommodating for any advice or items we needed. The couple we brought with us also enjoyed their room. Would love to stay there again if we come back to Walla Walla.

Room Tip: can't beat the shower in the Dryad room. Great balcony for a glass of wine late at night.

Beautiful elegant stylish house, outstanding rooms, fantastic breakfast, attentive and friendly innkeeper. It's a good 15 minute walk to town, but it's tough to leave this gorgeous house. One just feels like relaxing after breakfast on the beautiful porch and the only thing You hear are the leaves of the many massive trees around....

First trip to Walla Walla and Green Gables. Wonderful city and B and B. Willowmere room was just as I had hoped.....cozy and quiet and just loved that bed. Alexis and Andi were a pleasure to have as host and chef. Having a great breakfast inside that beautiful Victorian dining room or out on the large open porch made our stay a joy.

Room Tip: Willowmere has a wonderful large clawclaw tub and is a corner room.

Green Gables Inn offered our group everything we were hoping and more. The rooms were clean, quiet, and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious, and I appreciated being offered a choice rather than the standard one breakfast fits all. The location was within walking distance to downtown and the many tasting rooms. We hope to visit Green Gables Inn again in the future.

Room Tip: I was able to view a few of the rooms and found each just as charming as the next. The innkeeper is...

This is a beautiful Victorian house, not fussy like some. (My husband dislikes teddy bears and frou-frou.) We enjoyed the big porch, where we spent time with another couple. We loved walking past the nearby historic homes.

My fiance and I stayed at Green Gables in for four nights and were blown away by Innkeeper Alexis and Chef Andi's kindness and attention to detail. Not only was the home spotless, warm and welcoming, but there were little touches everywhere that signified Alexis' passion for her guests. From a lovely beverage centre with wine glasses, cutlery and teas galore to specially made soaps and hair cleansers in the shower, we felt at home at this B&B and were genuinely sad to leave! Every morning awoke to the smell of fresh coffee being brewed as we stepped out onto the sunny veranda for breakfast. Fresh baked scones and juice awaited us as the first course to some creative and delicious ideas thought up by chef Andi. Upon leaving, we felt as though we were leaving new friends and a second home. We would recommend Green Gables to anyone and everyone passionate about gorgeous architecture and the warmth of old style Walla Walla.

Room Tip: While all rooms are excellent and include a fridge and A/C, the Idlewild Suite has its own fireplace...
