This is a fabulous museum! Whether you are spending the day, or just looking to kill a few hours, the variety and selection of the various exhibit halls is amazing. And the architecture of the building alone is stunning. I have seen a number of travelling exhibits here as well, and they are always presented with the same care and attention that the museum gives to the permanent collection.

Excellent Photos from the outside. My wife and I went by the Museum. The parking is $7.00. We decided not to go visit the Museum and pay the additional fees. There is free 15 minute parking up front. The water fountain area and flowers is immaculate as well as taking pictures of the outside building. The inside is interesting also with an old organ, beautiful inside, gift shop, penny machine and decent bathroom to use. It is worth the stop even for 15 minutes if you are in town. If you do park at the lot and visit the museum, you can take the trolley to the front doors.

I read that this is the home if one of the top 10 children's museums in the country and I can see why. We took our 6 year old daughter who had an amazing time. She loved the large water table area. The section called The Woods was by far her her favorite part. They had what looked like a real forest for kids to play. They had ladders and stairs for kids to get into the tree canopy and play. A tree fort and tree house where kids could play. They could even go down a tree slide. We highly recommend. We also checked out the dinosaur special exhibit which I would recommend for older children. At 6 years old our daughter wasn't that into it.

I went to the Natural History and Science Museum and the lobby. I think the Union Terminal was really interesting and to learn the history surrounding the Art Deco building was an unexpected surprise. There was a Railroad Club in the A tower that used to be the signal room. It has historical information about Cincinnati's rich railroad past. There are still Amtrak trains running at night in the Terminal. As to the Natural History and Science Museum, it was a little smaller than I expected but that is no surprise as it only takes up around a third of the building. What was most surprising was that there was a huge limestone cave replica with areas for crawling through tight passages. It was impressive and featured cool geologic features like a one story high room with a column running from floor to ceiling. Otherwise, the exhibits are slightly informative and there were a few truly engaging subjects with good information. It looked as if many sections hadn't been updated since the '90's. I found little innovation and additionally saw obvious signs of age throughout. Overall, the museum was dated but of average quality with a few wonderful aspects like the cave and the baby muumy. Again, the Union Terminal itself was superb with spectacular Art Deco architecture and rich history. I wish the rest of the Center would have been of such quality.

We originally planned our visit to the Cincinnati Museum Center to view the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. This was a wonderful exhibit that was extremely well curated and well worth the time we spent enjoying it. Not being from Cincinnati we were not familiar with this museum complex and were thoroughly impressed with the variety of exhibits and the beauty of the Art Deco architecture of the building itself.
