“Wonderful experience!”
Reviewed 7 July 2012

This was my first visit to the CIncinnati Art Museum, and I was really impressed. The permanent collection was wonderful, with just the right amount of information offered about the various works. When we were there , we saw a temporary exhibit of Henry Ossawa Tanner's work, which was great. Lots of lovely things with connections to the Cincinnati area, including Rookwood pottery, beautiful wood carvings by Henry Fry and other Cincinnati carvers, and Frank Duveneck's paintings. And it was free! The museum cafe was reasonably priced and the food was excellent, two attributes that are rarely found in museum eateries. Highly recommend this wonderful museum.

They often have different displays and something always catches my eye while I'm there, even if I've seen it before.

“A very pleasant surprise”
Reviewed 2 July 2012

I really enjoyed my visit to this delightful art gallery which was well laid out with lots on interesting items to see - paintings, sculpture, porcelain... The icons of the collection are displayed in an interesting way with each item separated from it's neighbour by a curtain - allows you to really focus on the item in front of you. Not busy so was able to take my time and really study the items that interested me. Then had a coffee and cake on the cafe terrace.
There was a major exhibition of Henry Ossawa Tanner at the time of my visit that was an expected pleasure and worth seeing if you can
