Description: The heritage of Cincinnati's storied brewing history comes alive along the banks of the Ohio River at this world-class restaurant and brewery. Prominently situated in the dynamic Smale Riverfront Park, the Moerlein Lager House offers a guest experience unlike any other—a working microbrewery producing a full line of Moerlein craft brews, and delectable fare featuring grain spent breads, hand-carved sandwiches, and smoked rotisserie meats… foods reminiscent of those served in the city’s celebrated 19th century beer gardens.

The Moerlein Lager House is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The food is prepared fresh and the menu is varied with something for everyone. One of my favorites is the Spent Grain Burger. It is a veggie burger made with the grains from the in house brewing process.
The service is consistently good and many of their servers have been with them for some time. They know the menu well and can answer all of your questions.
The location is a prime downtown riverfront spot. It is directly across the street from Great American Ballpark and the view to the south is directly across the Suspension Bridge (made famous in the movie Rainman for the non-locals). Seating is plentiful indoors and out. During sporting and special events they also open up the lawn area outside to accomodate more people.
If you haven't gone, go there. It is a great place to take out of town visitors to show off the city. Also, you can park under the building.

Well-located across from Great American Ballpark, this restaurant offers plentiful seating (with different views and vibes) and its own crafted beers (I loved the Hefeweisen). I imagine it is packed before and after games, but we went on a weeknight and sat at a great corner table looking out to the river and the ballpark. There are plenty of sophisticated pub food options and they are willing to modify (I added a fried egg to my Alehouse Burger).

I frequent the Beer Baron Dinners at Moerlein's and for those that have not been it's a must do! First, Moerlein is able to bring in the top microbreweries from around the country which is pretty special. Second, the executive chefs are given full artistic license to use their talents to make exquisite dishes using the visiting brewery's beer. Overall a homerun in my opinion.

I was not expecting much from this restaurant. But, I was more than pleasantly surprised by the food here. Our large group had some selections from the meat and cheese board that were excellent. The salads were typical. For my entree I had the pork belly with brussels sprouts. The pork belly was melt in your mouth awesome - some of the best I've ever had. The brussels sprouts were quite good too.

The location is fantastic as it is in the Banks between the baseball and football stadiums. It has valet parking and there is an ample parking garage right next to the restaurant.

If you are looking for a date night with a significant other ... take this one into consideration. The location is perfect for a Reds game too.
