We had been given a gift certificate for a Montgomery Inn- we had been to the one on North I 71 years ago and decided to try the Boat House. We were going to The Taft Theater for a 8 pm performance. We arrive at the Boathouse at 5:30 and had to do the valet parking. When we walked in there was a long line- party's waiting for their reservations. We were seated in just moments. We were back away from the windows but our view was nice looking across the river into Kentucky( if we had been 30 minutes later we would have had a 45 min. to 1 hr. wait for seating).
I found the menu was over priced for what you ordered. We both had ribs because we did not won't to pay what the steaks were priced- this is not a Morton's or Malone's where you know you are going to get a good steak for your money. The ribs came with 1 side. Kathie ordered a spinach salad and steamed broccoli and I ordered steamed green beans and cold slaw- the sides were good.
The ribs were good and filling but not the quality for the price. The bread they served when you sat down was very good- would have liked to eatten more but we are on the Atkin's Diet and bread is a no no.
We found you need to know where you are going to find the location. The trip plan we had pulled off was a little confusing. The problem I have in driving in downtown Cincy is all the one way streets.
All and all we enjoyed our dinner- I was celebrating my 70th. So with the dinner and seeing Dennis Miller and Bill OReilly at the Taft was a wonderful evening.
