Have gone past this place a million times and finally stopped in. Great turkey and bacon double decker with Swiss, lettuce tomato and mayo - tasted very fresh. Maria was a fun and efficient server! Lots of regulars. I will go back!

This place is a staple of Sharonville. If you took it away, it would begin to unravel. Pay no mind to the fact it shares a parking lot with a funeral home. It's only a measure to keep yuppies and hipsters out. It's clean as a pin. And the fact the restrooms only have outside access it another oddity to keep said demographic at bay. Now you know so, go!
This is the best NJ diner food outside Jersey. Breakfast, lunch blue, plate dinner... check and fageddit already. Burgers, gyros, sandwiches..fries... yep. salads.. I told yeh, fageddit, it's legit.
Family business. Susan will wait on you and her brother mans the grill. a local or two may prep or back her up but it family owned and run.
I have read reviews that say packaged food and school cafeteria. Not so true. This is diner food. It is served out of a rezoned and repurposed residential building, it is kitschy. Sometimes, if things aren't delivered fresh they have to go to option #2, it is what it is. Things are cooked to order, if you like Swiss on your Greek fries (That is a perfectly fried order of crinkles coated in the house's secret blend of yummy-ness that looks like seasoned salt but is NOT!) they will do it. If your picky kid wants a double decker combination not on the menu, they have the goods..it's a custom order..no extra charge. OK, so you get one drink refill on your tub size red plastic pebble textured 40 oz "glass". The place is small. You can't linger, they need to flip tables and move on at busy times, expect to pay for the prime real estate. Got it!? Some Greek fare but it's mainly mash-ed up with NJ diner fare. Gyros a la crazy styles and even a salad option of them. The baklava sundae is a great way to end it here. I know its sacreligious to ask for it heated but trust me, hot honey, and nuts trapped inside the phyllo topped with hot fudge and ice cream.. just break the food laws once in a while..it is not a jailable offense.
Daily special rock the budget friendly side and the lent specials are great too. Carry out is always an option, even for breakfast!! HUGE if you're boss is in a mood or you are looking to score points with the secretary.

Good service and very good food. Loved the gyro and the baklava was a great finisher. I thought it was a good value as well.

From the name you would expect more than less Greek food but a Gyro is about as good as it gets at the Athenian in Sharonville. Having feasted at various Greek diners in the Chicagoland area I was expecting something better but left here disappointed. It's a cut above fast foods and a unique place to eat but the food is just average. Prices are fair but no bargain. I doubt you'll see it on Guy Fieri's, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

Growing up in Sharonville, I have fond memories of family dinners at this restaurant. The owners John and Yula and George are very kind people. They have so many wonderful stories to tell you about Greece, and John and Yula's children Billy and Freda are two of the sweetest young adults you could ever meet. I would give this place 100 stars if I could.....
