This elegant bar is part of history. It's inside the Cincinnatian hotel, which is a "National Historic Registry" landmark. Stop by for an appetizer and a great wine selection from their drink menu. I recommend the "Beef Tartare

We had some great drinks at good prices while waiting on the casino shuttle. Great value for the prices and nice staff.

Happy Hour is actually two hours long, but dinner specials & drinks are the way to go. Service was excellent.

We were disappointed. After a decade of enjoy meals in The Cricket this is the first time that food quality, service and amenities all suffered equally to a point that we can state that our visit was a disappointment. Arriving at 5:20 pm on a Monday evening, we attempted to order a moderately priced Cabernet. Selecting more than five times from the wine list only to be told each time that our choice and vintage, as listed, were 'out'. Finally settling on one that was available and mediocre, we were extended an extra glass 'for our trouble'. They also no longer have San Pellegrino, only Perrier. Eh. The Hummus appetizer is always good. I ordered trout with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Hubby ordered grilled chicken breast Au jus with arugula, roasted veg and fingerling potatoes. I say we ordered, as though it was a matter of course. In fact, it took at least 30 minutes from clearing of the hummus and finally getting the wine to again get our server's attention. Did I mention that when we arrived that there were only two other tables expecting to dine? Also, we figure our server forgot about collecting our dinner order. To her defense, the multi-levels make it difficult for a single server managing the whole seating area: inadequate.
Our server explained that the trout was a variety very like salmon. Took that as a note.
Dinner came in a mostly timely time. I asked about the asparagus that was noticeably absent from my plate, only to be told it was 'out'. Of course it was. In its place was grilled Brussels sprouts and mushrooms. That was fine. Funny how much trout can look, smell, and taste like salmon when it is, in fact, salmon. The veggies were done nicely but the very salmon-y fish was a bit dry and other than a touch of salt, completely boring. Hubby's fossilized chicken was absent Au jus and arugula. Ever seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation turkey? You get the idea.
Missing Au jus, arugula, and asparagus, we are suspicious that the chef has a phobia concerning any food beginning with the letter 'A'. Just a suspicion.
Hubby retreated to the restroom and reported back that the sink was clogged and out of soap. This is a serious faux pas for a guest to endure, especially when said guest is a former health inspector. Big ooops!
Yes, yes, I know it was a Monday night and stocks can get low after a busy weekend, but really now.
I know that we will be back, but with apprehension.

The Cricket is located inside the Cincinnatian Hotel in downtown Cincinnati. They offer cocktails and light sandwich type meals.

Service is excellent and always comes with a smile.
