June 27, 2014 stay. One-night only. The hotel had a nice buzz the evening of our arrival (a Friday) - a gathering of some sort. The restaurant is certainly a lovely place for such. Pet friendly (plenty of space in town that is convenient to the Gould for pet stretching - a very nice park and boat tie-up area on the canal across from the Gould and lovely neighborhoods immediately adjacent to the Gould's "main street" location). We wish much success to the individuals that are reviving this fine hotel and thanks for the enjoyable stay.

My husband and I stayed here for one evening at the end of June on our way home from Maine. At the last minute, we were able to get a room with two double beds. We were very fortunate, as everything was booked in the area and we were desperate - had called earlier and they had a suite, but we didn't want to spend money for an overnight suite. When we came through town, we stopped in at the hotel and were able to book this room.

It was lovely. Two double beds, luggage racks at the end of each bed, Keurig coffee pot, modern bathroom with Bath and Body Works toiletries, beautiful glass shower, clothes closet. The room was very well decorated in silver with chandeliers over each bed. Everything was very clean and fresh.

The beds were comfortable; and even though we were close to the elevator on the second floor, it was very quiet. We did hear some noise from the room above in the early evening, but not later on.

Desk personnel were very friendly and made us feel quite welcome. Free parking with a dedicated parking lot and free internet.

We ate dinner at the hotel since they gave us a $10 credit with the room. I felt that the restaurant was a little dark and not very cozy. I had a crab cake and a generous serving of grilled, fresh vegetables which were both very good, but I would probably only give the restaurant four stars due to the lack of atmosphere. Even though the grilled vegetables were really great I thought $16 was a bit pricey. I couldn't have the slaw with my crab due to an allergy, but still had to pay $16 for some veggies. The crab cake was very good.

All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay while visiting Seneca Falls.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night, on our way back from Boston. We have been in Seneca Falls before and there is something about this town that we loved. We decided it was a good place to stay on our way home. Tim at the front desk was incredibly friendly and accommodating. His charm made you feel like an old friend and we knew we had made a great choice when we saw our room. It was clean, minimal, bright and comfortable, just what we look for in a hotel. The design is a bit quirky and a breath of fresh air from the chain hotels that all look the same. Our room had two large and comfy beds, two luggage racks, a large bright bathroom, a closet and a few tables. We don't ever unpack our suitcases at a hotel anyways, so the luggage racks were fine. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed our meal and a few drinks. The next morning, we picked up a coffee and a few things at the bakery across the street for our continued road trip home. If you get a chance, pick up a sandwich at the Downtown deli too...its delicious!
A great place to stay if you want to experience something original.

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and was very pleased. Rooms were a bit modern but clean, spacious and located in downtown Seneca Falls which is minutes from Geneva, Watkins Glen and Skaneateles areas of the finger lakes. The front desk staff were very accomodating. We asked to switch rooms from a Queen suite to a 2 full size bed room without any issues. They even gave us the biggest room available.

Room Tip: rooms facing the street is a bit noisy if you are light sleeper - it did not bother us

I can't say anything about the rooms, as we were there just for dinner, which was very disappointing. Terrible service, so-so food. We used to eat here each summer when it was the Clarence Hotel, but their is no comparison. They need to do a lot of work to bring this restaurant up to any type of standard, especially with other really good restaurants in Seneca Falls.
