Spent an evening there. Great sites in the back loops the front sites are as described. We had a great spot with plenty of room for the kids to explore. Would choose this place again for sure for our RV.

Over fine experience. If you book in advance, I strongly recommend that you get a site that is in the back of the campground. There is a large field with campsites that looks like a boy scout jamboree with tents and cars right next to other. You could probably open the tent door of the campsite next to you if you liked. I was just grateful that I hadn't been assigned to that loop. I am not certain if you can even request a specific site/loop.

Went there in late July. Overview wonderful location, generally pretty central to sites. Also recommend the cafeterias for food. Great inexpensive dinner. Comparable to must buffet restaurants in food quality.

Room Tip: Stay away from the open field camping loop. Up in the woods the sites are more private.

We had stayed at loop c and had used our camp shower for 2 days without a issue from anyone. Not like you can hide anything, there are no trees :P on the 3rd and last day there, we got a warning yellow paper saying we could not use our camp shower for eating or bathing and no reason why. Needless to say we will never be back again.

We were lucky to have obtained a cancellation for a campsite 2 months prior to our visit, they had been fully booked for close to a year! So book ASAP if you know your travel plans. The campsite was topnotch with a welcome check-in center that provided a map of campground, firewood, kindling wood, and matches! Never had time to check-out the Marina's store but I'm told they had snack type food available (the Marina is located down the road a bit). I've read the reviews below about lack of trees but we were lucky to be in a wooded area, even though the campsites were close we felt they were far enough apart to comfortably talk and we had plenty of room ... enough for two tents in are particular site. The only thing I would change is more shelf space in the bathrooms, it was difficult to place things down with just a 4"deep x 12" wide shelf! So bring your backpacks ladies so you can hang your stuff.

This campground was a last minute booking and we were so glad to get it. There is nothing to complain about in this campground other than I wish there was a little more privacy per camp site. It may have been the loop we were on ... Loop C ... But there were no trees or privacy, and everyone could hear everyone else conversation in the quiet of the night. The camp site was very clean, bathrooms were clean. Even with out privacy everyone was kind and respectful to each other. It felt very safe. Others said they had seen wildlife, but I. Our two days we did not, (again we were in the front of the loop near the road, so if you want to see wildlife, maybe stay in the back of the loop). There are no showers here, you must go about 4 miles away to the next camp ground, but it didn't cause a problem for us. (The lake camp ground has most things you need, so don't worry if you forgot something, it's an easy drive.) Something to remember that even in August it can be very cold! While we were there it was 34-38 deg overnight!!! Make sure you prepare for that. We thought we were .. Good sleeping bags and extra blankets, but I was still cold!! Nice campground though!

After reading some negative reviews on this site, I was initially let down upon being told we would were given Loop C as our tent camping designation (to be fair, our reservations were on very short notice.)

Luckily, it turned out to be a very good place to camp. We stayed 3 nights and were satisfied with campground, the only cons were being in close proximity with other campers and no showers but it never turned out to be a problem.

Within minutes of setting up our tent, a gigantic male bison wandered through the campground and came within 10 feet of our tent! We heard wolf packs howling at night in the woods, encountered an elk nearby on a trail by the meadow next to our tent, and discovered bear paw prints one morning.

The check-in will supply firewood boxes for $7 and each campsite comes with your own fire pit and heavy duty grill for cooking food on. There was a small store within walking distance that had very good prices on camping items, souvenirs, food and beverages.

The bathrooms were clean and had flush toilets and running water.

I don't enjoy camping next to RVs, so next time will request a tent only loop but overall the campsite was pretty good.

This was a great campground for tent camping. We camped for over a week. It was colder than we thought it would be - so bring warm stuff, even in the middle of July. We had wildlife walk right by our tent all the time. Beautiful views of the Lake. We only stayed in the tent area so can't really comment on the rest of the campground. Great location in Yellowstone, pretty close to everything. There are showers down the road.
