As suggested, almost all the animals in the park can be seen in this valley. It was a magical place from the bison to a moose and her big baby. What a beautiful Eden like spot.

If you are looking for scenic vistas and abundant wildlife, I highly recommend taking a late afternoon/early evening drive out to the Lamar Valley. Absolutely awesome.

Went through today may 30. Lots of baby calves and herds in the valley. Spotted some black bears. Wonderful day

Lamar Valley is my favorite part of the Yellowstone National Park. We spotted countless bison along and even in the roadway, a mama grizzly with two big last year's cubs, black bear, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, elk, sandhill cranes.. May is a great month to visit, and near dusk is about the best time to see lots of animals.

Thank shaluhe

We saw herds of bison with cute young calves, elk, pronghorn, mule deer, black bears one with cubs, a badger, mile deer, a coyote, a few bighorn sheep including the impressive males and some female moose. We were not lucky enough to see any grizzlies of wolves - a good reason to return and try again. The vistas were worth it without the wildlife!
