Very outdated place, asking around 200 USD a night while a Ramada motel room is better in quality (only 64 USD a night). The toilet didnt'flush through and flooded the bathroom. Asking for a nother room seems to be a weird question in the eyes of the moody desk attendant. The were old and made sounds when you move. It all made it the most terrible stay ever! Yosemite Park at it's own was quite disappointing as well.

Great place to stay in Yosemite. Food at the restaurants is good and the service is great. Rooms are clean and rustic and the view of the domes is breathtaking. Lots of hiking trails near the lodge. Rooms have space heaters for cold nights.

Obviously with this hotel you're paying for the location, which is undeniably brilliant. I stayed in a family lodge room (all they had left when I booked), which had a queen size bed and a bunkbed with a single bed over a double bed. If I'd been travelling as a couple, the size of the room would have been fine, but I can imagine being in there two, three or four other people would be rather cramped.
The food was good, nothing special, but solid and reasonably priced.
I think the staff let this place down a bit though. The people I cam across generally ranged from a bit uninterested to rude. There were perhaps a couple of exceptions where the staff were perfectly pleasant, but the overall feeling seemed to be that the staff didn't particularly want to be there/want you to be there.
Luckily, the beautiful Yosemite landscape overshadowed this minor annoyance!

Room Tip: Prepare for a squeeze if there are a few of you in a family room!

The Lodge is very near the Yosemite Falls and has easy access to bike rentals, food court and gift shop. The room at the Juniper location on the first floor on the end was comfortable and clean, but the walls are thin so the tweens next door singing Happy Birthday repetitively was all too audible and annoying. There is no ESPN in the room if that matters to you, but wifi is free although slow. There are no accessible outlets at the bedside so plugging in your laptop or cell phone and using it while in bed is not an option. The Ahwahnee is newer and more upscale but the Lodge has the best location because it is so centrally located within the Valley.

We just came from a 2 night stay at this hotel. The best thing about the hotel is the unbelievable location! Walk out your door and you are surrounding in some of the most beautiful nature I have ever seen. The rooms are a decent size and quite cosy. Be aware, the walls are VERY thin and you can pretty much hear everything going on in the room next too. Our neighbours nocturnal activities kept my wife up till the early hours of the morning. So that was very annoying for us and the reason why we didn't give it 4 stars. The wifi is also quite average, it regularly didn't allow me to upload or download photos I was taking during the day. So if you want just a room in a good location, this is the one for you, just don't expect to much more.

We spent 3 nights here as part of our CA trip and it was definitely the poorest quality accommodation we stayed in, both in respect of the rooms and positive, proactive customer service - but it is in a perfect location. Having been allocated our room, we twice went back and asked for a different room. The first two were smelly, dated and dingy - sorry I can't remember the names of the blocks we stayed in. Finally we got a room in the recently renovated Maple block which was OK.
Whilst there are fridges in the rooms, there are no microwaves so you are reliant on the catering services provided by the park. The cafeteria is functional but overpriced and they seem unable manage queues by bringing more staff onto tills, which is frustrating when you're wanting to eat breakfast and get going. The bar is a relatively good value option and the staff are helpful. The restaurant is dull.

The rooms are mostly away from the main lobby building and available parking was far from our room. This makes a big difference when they are telling you to remove not only all your food but also any items that are fragranced because of bears. They have you sign a contract stating that you are responsible for any damage to your car as well as an additional $5000 if you do not comply with the food free/fragrance free policy. So make sure you check under your seats if you don't want this to turn into an expensive experience. The room had tv, iPhone 4 dock, fridge. The location can not be beat for Yosemite valley.
