If you're traveling to the Yosemite valley then I imagine your main objective isn't to spend lots of time inside your hotel room. Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is not the Ritz, but it is a quaint place to have a quiet respite at the end of a beautiful day outside. This lodge is the ideal place to stay in the center of one of the most naturally beautiful places I have ever seen. It's steps to the falls and trails and trees and deer. As a matter of fact, nestled in the woods, our ground floor room had a small patio with a table and chairs where we watched deer graze just a few feet away. It was so peaceful and quiet here. We slept so well.
We ate in all three dining options: the food court/dining hall (reminded me of college), the lounge (bar food) and the more upscale (if you can call it that) Mountain Room. The food was pretty bad at all three location and the staff seemed indifferent at of these locations, but we really didn't come to Yosemite for a culinary experience.
We did come for the hiking and the biking and the sight-seeing. Yosemite is a mystical and majestic place. If you live in California or Nevada, please bring your family here at least once. You won't regret it.More
